View Full Version : Channel a Tree Spirit

Samhain
06-08-2006, 02:42 AM
I am now giving people the oppertunity to channel a Tree Spirit, for those of you that are familier to my blessings thread, they are not unsimilar.
I will channel a random Tree Spirit for you.
while Blessings are of the Goddess, these tree spirits are of the green man.
The other difference is that people turn to Blessings often to find answers to specific problems and querys, where the Tree Spirit will stay with you for the next few months and will guide you, but not control you, with their gentle energy.
If you would like one, answer this thread or PM me.
if you would like your name left off, you will need to PM me and let me know
Blessings
S
P.S once you have had a tree channel, it is powerful if you can find it to bring some of that tree into your home or place of work, on a spiritual level ask the tree for permission first, on a safety level remember to keep it well out of reach of children and pets

Yeah man, channel me a tree spirit! I was planning on hanging a green man in my market stand, as a blessing, my company logo's an acorn. Channel one for me, and one for Ground Score as well!

I think what I'll do is channel a tree spirit for the shop and do a goddess blessing for you (we discussed it in pm folks I'm not forcing a blessing on her!)

Gooseberry
Its at moments like this, I like to remind people these are random, because didn't you say to me you like fruit bushes? does this count?
This blessing bodes very well for a new business as the spirit of gooseberry, is all about drawing on the collective wisdom of our ancestors, basically if you make anything for your shop bless it with the wisdom of Gooseberry, the wisdom of our ancestors, investagate how our ancestors made the type of products your selling to ensure there quality.
this is really very powerful a spirit bring a Piece of Gooseberry bush into the shop, this way your not only bringing the ancestors in, but the protection that comes with them

I certainly can and did you give me 5 stars BTW, that was really nice!

Spirits of Rowan

you are being looked after on every level, if you feel the need to be protected, take all sensible precautions that you need to take, but call on Rowan as well.
visulise yourself surronded by Rowan if you are ever around people you feel unsafe with.
bringing Rowan into the house or into your sleeping area will protect your surrondings (do keep it safely out of reach of children and pets!)

Heather
I love Heather don't you?
This is an interesting one, as one meaning of Heather is a new start, a new life after an old cycle has ended, and its a great time of year to start this, as we will soon be going into the years second half with the start of the summer solstice.
Heather suggets that luck can be yours, however to go into this new cycle you will have to think and shed all the unneeded baggage you carry with you, wether this be emotional, spiritual or physical- then luck will be yours!

Yes me to please, I need lots of strength and guidance.

Elder

This is two fold, although Jess the second part is more difficult.
first of all this suggests that you are and always will be your own elder, your own wise woman, you have the knowledge and wisdom, even if you don't always realise it, you just have to find it.
the second part which comes with this tree is sacrifice, now sacrifice in this situation means to give up something that you will find difficult to give up, however for your own well being you should give up, once you have done this you will start to move followed and the spirits will take your sacrifice and be pleased

Alder
The Alder wood because of its strengh used to be used to defend territories, the appearence of Alder suggests that you are strong and are able to defend yourself, although at the moment you are not doing.
somewhere in your life at the moment you have a boundry or boundries that you need to protect, now you may know exactly what this is, if so call on Alder to assist you in this, if you don't know, call on Alder to give a clearer picture.
you must take sensible precautions as well of course, but in this cause call on Alder to be your spiritual assistance.
NOTE: a boundry here could be anything from a boss or a boyfriend taking advantage of your good intentions to your back door not being secure, although to be honest, with this I get a feeling of relationships rather than the physical
NOTE2: If you are uncertain about your future, it means you are lacking the boundries concerning this to mark a path out and continue, call on alder for help with this as well

you appear to have two!
first of all

FERN
Fern is all about truth, take time to be a truth finder at the moment, call on Fern to help you see the truth in situations that need to be clearer.
Actually the idea of truth is vast, have you been avoiding the truth to save you from emotional pain? when in fact to move on you need to face it?
Have you been speaking untruths to save a persons or peoples feelings, when almost certainly truth in the long run is the best option?
call to Fern in all areas where you need the strengh to find the truth.

GORSE
This is so appropiate because it involues fertility and Summer solstice a fire passion festival is just around the corner.
you have fertility in abundance now!
Start or restart any projects, hobbies, jobs and ideas and call on Gorse to help if you need too.
If you or anyone around you are trying for children at the moment this bodes very well

I actually think its incredable that after all we've spoken about Elder came up for you.
remember you can also give up things like negative feelings about yourself, this is harder than it sounds as we tend to protect ourselves with feelings like this

Funny you say that because I am keeping a new journal and I am only going to write things that promote "self love " in it. I keep my angry journal hidden. I am telling myself stuff that I need to hear for myself... based on some of the insecurities I have due to what I've been facing lately. I am also using a few stones to help me focus or meditate...it has been helping me draw positive energy in my mind and giving me something to hold and feel while I feel sad or confused etc. I have rose quartz and Hematite. My friend (the new one) is really into meditation, and healing energy from stones ... I picked the crystals myself! Sam she even has Dr. Bach's healing remedy in her purse !!!! (weird and good how things are getting blurred into one concept for me!)

Spindle
This is an interesting one, seeing as we've all been discussing fate of late on here, this tree gets it's name for its primary purpose of making spindles that where used in weaving.
If we see our fate as a thread that goes outwards, it would stand to reason that we have unendless choices, that we can pick a thread and follow it, undo another one and follow that in what ever direction we choose.
Spindle is here to remind you to follow your true dreams, choose which threads suits you and follow your destiny!!
meditate on Spindle to help you with this

Samhain, I was wondering if you could channel a tree spirit for me. I've been dealing with some depression lately, that hit right around my twins' 3rd birthday at the end of last month, but it seems to have been a bit worse within the past few days. I don't like to talk about things like this very often, because I always feel that I must be strong, and I believe that I am, however I could use a little guidance, and this is something hard for me to admit to.

This time of year brings back many flashbacks of my near passing three years ago following the birth of my twins, and I am also suffering with a lot of emotional pain because of these flashbacks, feeling a sense of loss due to the constant reminder that my childbearing days are over.

I'm just feeling sad, and that's not me.

Gooseberry
this is connected to ancestors and their wisdom, the ancestors are saying that they are open for you to connect with them at the moment. sit queitly (with some fruit of the bush if you can get it) and ask your ancestors for help and advice and support, after all how many women have been mothers since the dawn of time, their wisdom is vast.
you can also go closer to home, with this, ask older women friends and your parents and grandparents for support and advice.
have you thought about setting up a womens discussion group?
Gooseberry is also interestingly connected with the goddess'es of childbirth- so do trust that you are not alone in this

Blackthorn

I have a strong rapport with Blackthorn - not only does the sloe berry produce a fine gin,but also its stature provides wamrth and emotional security in unstable circumstances and protection from uninvited external influences.I don't know if this relates in anyway to your definition Samhain, but that has been my real life experience, anyway!

This is what I've got to say about Blackthorn
Blackthorn reminds one that real magic is everywhere and to find it we just need to reconnect with nature.
we can also do this by taking careful notes of signs and by remembering our dreams.
sometimes all we need to do is listen, really listen, to find the magic within and without.
Wizards used to carry staffs made from Blackthorn, which is probably where the magical link comes from

scottish moor grass is also something to behold in autumn - it shimmers with faint rainbows in the evening if you are at a highish altitude - there are some flowers in scotland on the mountainsides that change colour too according to the weather.

I have two tree spirits that would like to communicate with you!

Rowen

the spirit of Rowen states that you are very protected at the moment, when ever you feel vulnerable (as well as taking common sense precautions) you could take a rowen berry or a piece of the rowen tree and keep it on your person, having it in your living quarters will also protect your home.
when ever you are feeling unsure or frightened or in need of protection, call to Rowen, imagine Rowen surronding you, safe in the knoweldge that you are safe.

Oak

oak is also a tree of great protection so it would suggest that you are feeling very vulnerable at present and are in need of this.
However oak serves to remind us that no one knows where fate will take us, in this case, oak reminds you that you need to watch out for oppertunities and take them when they come along, but also trust that the universe is there for you, let the river take you to places, give up the need to control and try and enjoy life!

so what do you need to protect at the moment? reflect or meditate on this.

Many Thanks Samhain, I found this website that would help those wanting to know more about their tree.

Alder is the "Tree to stand with when life tests your strength"
It is considered a fiercly protective warrior tree that was used for shields in the belief that the spirit of the tree would protect its wearer. Its character resonates with me very much right now. I really appreciate your help.

Could you channel a tree for my partner, Sandy. He could really use it right now.

I don't think you know very well, but I must say, I would be interested and appreciative to know what tree you find for me.

I have a dear friend all the way back to high school days, who chose a tree spirit for me, and I am very interested to know what you come up with. She is a Witch, and was pretty clear on some things we used to talk about, tho' I've lost track of her after moving away for five years.

Every day I practice chi gung under some trees in my back yard. Trees can be very good for this, as they have a very healing and strengthening energy almost always. Tho' I have on at least one occasion met a tree that was hostile to me and my practice. I could feel anger toward humanity emanating from this poor disturbed tree. It is part of a park in downtown Orlando.

I love trees and always cry in my heart when I see them destroyed for egoistic gains.

This tree advice is two fold, you are a person who is connected o their emotions, this is a postive thing, we should all be intouch with our emotions and freely be able to express them, don't hide away from this aspect of yourself.

the second piece of advice is simple, you need to achieve harmony in your life at the moment, you are in a space where things are not peaceful, you need to find ways of grounding your self and finding inner queit, if you can do this you will then reconnect to your creative side, your talents

Don't forget to listen there are teachers everywhere, from the smallest flower, the smallest child running past you in a shop to the tallest tree and the homeless woman on a park bench.
everything and everyone has got something to teach you- all you need to do is listen.
although the lesson may not always be an easy one.

don't feel that you have to or need to do everything and cope with everything on your own, find ways that you can share, work within a group or a community, don't go it alone.
your talents and strenghs are great, but they are so much greater when you share and when you take time to learn the talents and strengh of those around you

This is very interesting with whats written in your sig.
this is all about fate, no one really knows their fate, but neither are we powerless.
think about what truely motivates you, what you really want, but don't worry to much about fate, as this stops one from truely being present in their lives.
make plans by all means, however to truely enjoy life means to live fully in the present, so trust in fate, don't worry about it and let go and live life!

this is all about truth
when one is truthful they are also honourable, are you being truthful at the moment?
Fern is not suggesting you are a down right lier! but resist the temptation, to tell white lies to those around you, true insight comes with truth.
in this way you will be able to sense that others around you are not being completly honest with you, do you suspect this, but have ignored your instincts, maybe its about time you listened?

the most important aspect of truch, is truth to yourself, are you in a unhappy situation or are unhappy with parts of your life, but have been telling yourself you are happy?
remember no one moves forward until they see the truth

Gooseberry

This is actually quite simple, Gooseberry reminds use that our ancestors are not only the ones that have walked before us, they are the great parents who have governed over every thought, word spoken and action taken since the beginning of time.
In short they are the font of universal collective wisdom, you have the right to draw on that wisdom, Do it now!
They are calling to you

Thanks again Samhain,
Its a beautiful favour you are doing here and you were spot on for both of us...
Though crazy as it sounds when I wondered what Sandy would be, I knew it woould be Willow. I have always found peace under a Willow. And Willow and Alder trees grow together!
Sandy is really grateful. Willow is so helpful for where he is now.
That link I posted also describes trees as personalities of people and he was Willow and I was Alder down to a T!
Again Samhain, your work is respected and appreciated.

Peace

Liz, you and I are both Taurus. Maybe this is why he chose gooseberry.

My friend Rhea (sp? - she changed her name from Donna to a goddess name when she switched to women) told me that I am a Willow. I have no idea why. I do drink a lot, and I am quite flexible! http://www.hipforums.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

i've been told I was a Willow before, and an oak.

yeah I was wondering if the gooseberry thing was related to being Tauruses, since our birthday's are so close. Hacker's got the same birthday, too btw.

Willows are very feminine trees, probably the most feminine of the ones I'm familiar with. They're associated with the moon, with dreams, healing, psychic activity, and the subconscious. I often think of it as the Goddess tree. Its bark is a common painkiller.

Oaks are masculine to Willow's feminine.

gooseberry...wisdom of ancestors...

I went back through the thread, and realized you channelled gooseberry not for me, but my business. recently i've faced a lot of concern and criticism because i'm not starting the business in a "traditional" way; that is I'm not limiting myself to the belief that I need a shitload of money and a storefront and business loans and credit and all those reasons people come up with why they "can't" work for themselves and have to remain wage slaves.

But that's really a new means of doing business, brought about by corporate-dominated capitalism, which of course doesn't want to see small independent businesses sprout up, grow and thrive. This is the way business had been done for thousands of years, after the apprenticeship comes the journeyman stage. Striking out on one's own. I don't need "permission" from a bank or a corporation or culture or a set of randomly generated numbers to start my business. I've let go of that need, I just do it with what I have in front of me and build it one step at a time. have we forgotten that businesses grow? It's not a jump-in-with-both-feet and expect instant gratification kind of thing. Businesses grow. Our ancestors were farmers, homesteaders, and craftsmen. They didn't need "permission" from a bank in the form of a start-up loan to grow. They used what was right in front of them, and grew it, accepting, not fearing temporary hardship & trusting the process of life to support them, not the banks and the corporations.

This is the wisdom of the ancients I think that will bless my business. We need to go back to the roots (pardon the pun) of commerce. The banks and the corporations, they're not what business is about. Business should return to the hands of the people, where it belongs.

Fern

We've had this one quite recently, this is all about following the path of truth.
this does not suggest for one minuet that you are telling big lie's its about the truth opening up the way for you.
are you truely happy where you are in life, or are you holding your self back by pretending to be, why don't you reflect and meditate, on what you would really like from life, does that match what you have now, if not what can you do about it and have you been glossing over the cracks for a while now.
It also serves as a warning are those around you being honest with you, really listen to people, this isn't about being paranoid, it is about learning to realise when the people around you speak the truth

White Poplar

The Poplars leaves tremble constantly and are a reminder that life energy flows through everything, sometimes one accepts this joyfully and dances with it, somtimes we have become so afraid by life circumstances and experinces that we tremble before it.
which one are you?
If one wishes to rejoin the dance or quicken their dance all they have to do is call out to White Poplar or call out to the spirit of nature in what ever form you feel it takes and ask.....

White Poplar is used often in incense which has come to be burnt as an offering at Samhain!

by the way, we ended up getting a fern that same day you channeled it for me. we went for a walk and there were so many. i didn't have the resources to take one out of its environment and felt a bit bad about it...
when andy went to work that evening at Whole Foods, they had a big phat lush fern that was just asking to come home. it was really interesting too. they carry plants there, but the stock ends up rotating. there was only one fern and that was the first one he had seen there since last year, i believe.
then he called me on the phone and told me he had a present for me. after being silly with my first guess, i guessed a fern.

I remember once when I was a teen, my friend tried to transplant some bloodroot from the woods into her garden, and it died. Bloodroot is a protected wildflower too. When I was a kid I got in trouble with my mom for picking some trilliums. I would never pick trilliums now! They're so endangered and beautiful! Some wild plants are invasive weeds, many of them actually brought to this country as pot herbs or medicines, and some are still naturally abundant, and these are ok to be responsibly harvested for food, medicines, fragrance or beauty. But much of our forests have become so fragile, and the reproductive cycle of native wildflowers so delicate, that many plants need to be left where they are.

mariecstasy

that was actually exactly what went through my mind. i know that it also could bring disease to the plants that we already have(mind you it's not many, we are just beginning to make our home.)

wow, i bet you don't and i bet every time you see a trillium you think of your mama:) i know that often i feel the desire to pick a flower from nature, not even the whole plant, just the flower, and i have a hard time doing even that. it just feels like i am robbing the plant.

lol, i even had a hard time picking the tomatoes off the tomato plant the other day for the same reason:) though they are super yummy and i am so glad that we have our own plants. i just don't feel like its mine to take.

yeah im finding this very interesting too... could explain the use of a tree spirit? and how it is channeled?
I meditate on the person in question and then call to the tree spirit to come to me.
the person is then guided by the spirit and hopefully be able to find self refelction and growth
'how' I do it is a closely kept secret!

The spirit of Spindle
The lesson of Spindle is that our lives and futures are woven not written in stone, however we can only really have true control once we figure out what our destiny is.
What are your dreams, your plans, your goals and ambitions, these are not small questions, but how can we direct ourselves until we have at least an idea of where we are going?
spend time with Spindle or his image, imagine infinate threads that start with you and lead into the distant future, ask Spindle for guidance help with direction, then you'll not only be able to pick a path, but be able to shape that path anyway you choose

Hello Samhain...I recently moved to a "new" old home, and in the side yard is the King of the Trees (for our property, LOL). He is a ginormous Silver Maple, probably 200 years old (I'll take a picture and post it soon). I feel that he presides over the rest of the trees in the yard: persimmon, walnuts, pecans, sweetgum, red maples, oaks.... just a lovely family of trees.

I found this site just recently, and love it so much.

I just ran across this post today for the first time, and I would love to have a tree spirit channeled for me, how exciting!! I'm searching for something in my spiritual life right now, the begining of the 5th day of the Galactic Underworld is an ongoing fascination, as I seek balance between the female and male in myself, light and dark, yin and yang.

I'll say thank you in advance for offering this gift to all.

I was fascinated which tree would answer this with your name being BelladonnaBlue! and I am pleased to say that YEW has come to you!
A tree which has connections to death very similar to Belladonna, although in this case its more about change, this channel is really very simple Yew states that one of your naturel talents is that of perseverance, when change happens to you and challenges arise you have the strenge to accept them, make the most of them and achieve your goals, should you ever feel that you need more support in this area go and find a Yew tree and spend some time with its spirit, your strengh could also be used to help others who find change difficult

Yew.
Taxus baccata.

The longest-lived native British tree, a Yew at Fortingale, Perthshire is over 2000 years old; usually 20 to 30 feet in height, and greater in breadth. Trunk massive, sometimes 50 feet in circumference, made up of many branches fused together. Bark furrowed, thin, scaly, purple-red. Leaves narrow and flat, leathery, very dark-green, about ?" long, poisonous to horses and men. Stamen-bearing flowers in catkins, almost round, about ?" across, each flow3er with about six yellow anthers; Pistil-bearing flowers resemble minute green buds. Fruit consists of an olive-green seed embedded in a red, wax-like cup.

my nontangable friends are friends precisely because THEY choose to be friends. not because anyone offers to set me up with channeling them.

some of them are just small and furry and snuggle up on top of the covers anyway.

sheesh.

setting on a nice flat rock out in the woods and opening yourself, i mean, i don't see what someone else is supposed to do that would bring you any closer to anything then doing that.
