Salvia... Fun or Scary? [Archive]

I've heard loads of people tell me that they've had really scary experiences on salvia, but mine have been nothing but interesting and good fun. I know i have already posted this vid, but its of my mate tripping on salvia and he has a wicked time!

For me salvia is neither fun nor frightening. I do salvia to take what I can from the experience and learn from it. I don't know how people can trip on the stuff in large groups especially with someone filming, It's more of an introspective substance, you can get more out of it if you do it in a more comfortable environment.

I quite agree with you mellow, but on this occasion my mate was purely interested to see what he was like after taking it. There is a bit on the video where he seems to move backwards and forwards and he later explained to me he was slipping out of his body and back in. But I can asure you he was perfectly comfortable with us in the room and didn't even realise the camera was there for most of the trip.

Your also totally right about tripping in large groups on salvia, and I certainly wouldn't encourage people to do so and it deffinatly isnt a 'party' drug, but at the same time a small group of close friends who you trust can make the experience much more comfortable and interesting. I always feel very comfortable sharing personal salvia trips with friends.

Salvia is interesting, sometimes frightening, always extremely wierd, but it would be hard to call it fun.
Cannabis and shrooms are fun. Salvia is strange but wierdly familiar.

i've only tried salvia once, and it wasn't a big enough toke to really send me into a full-blown trip. it was pretty neat though. the atmosphere felt totally different, and the parts of me that the light (from a lamp) was shining on felt cold. i felt like i was being pulled in the direction opposite of the lamp.

i liked that video. "aah, now i get it.." :)

It can be both depending on the circumstances. The fisrst few trips I had were mild and quite fun. Then I got a good hit of 5X and it was very scarey. As I was comming out of that experience I swore I wouldn't ever do it again. However after a while It didn't scare me as much and I have done it several times after that.

I had a awesome time while i was on salvia, even though i boosted the experience by having a bit o weed before hand, the only negative affect was then my friend was driving me home after a short ride on the highway, and i saw a police car start following us with the lights and sirens going, as it turns out there was no police car at all. So id say its just good fun

I had some x10 stuff, that was gooood, All I could see was swirling colours around me & when I tried to get up, they were pushing me back down, I was i a totaly differet room to where I was. The down side is it only lasts like 10 mins :-(

For someone who smokes alot of 'pot' yes the crap stuff cos thats all we can really get where I am. What Strength Salvia would you recommend? 5? 10 etc? Thanks for your help. I've got some green coming tomorrow which apparently has had the smell taken out of it?? I am the tester which sounds interesting.
Haha that sounds like bullshit! I don't trust that at all... the smell of bud is wonderful and why would you take it out? Sketch... smoke before u buy definitely.

I wouldn't describe it as either. I'm sort of indifferent to it...it hasn't yet frightened me, but it's definitely not fun. I look at it as more of an experience in general, not necessarily a good or bad one.

It's intense interesting and enlightening but I wouldn't call it "fun" in the way pot or acid can be fun.
First-timers who have scarey experiences are often people who took too much, start off with small amounts and build your way up. Trip responsibly.

the thing with salvia is, you have to take one deep hit, and
keep it down as long as possible, no point in doing a coupple of hits cos it doesn't work that way. You can't do in more than once an hour either, your body builds a tollerance up to it quickly. Try some x10, it's not that intense but good for first timers !!!

In my expereince with the stuff its scary..
Me and a buddy tryed it a while back... and well in small amounts we were doing pretty fine... it was just a total trip the feelings he thoughts ... good fun for a while but then we started drinking lol , i think thats where the night turned sour. After some video games and gettin good and drunk we thought hey lets smoke the rest of the salvia ... mind u this was 20X extract... wasnt weak at all
we packed the bong to the top so we could both take fatty hits ... well
i toke a hit and i started losing myself like , i was gone... when i toke the hit i was stangin on the left side of my room but the time the effects wore off i was on the bed in the other side of the room and i dont kno how i got there .. i lost my sence of reality completely... i remimber feeling like i was being crushed and falling.. i didnt want ppl touching me hell i dont even kno if me eyes where open but i saw things lol
the things in myroom became pitch forks and what not and jagged rocks like i was in hell everything had a red tint( eyes might of been closed at this point ) and i think my buddy rich turned into satan.. it was heavy, i havnt done it but the once and then i was 16... im 19 now and i think im down for another go... but it was fun.. after i came too and relized what happend i was like woow thats crazy and laughed.. but while i was goin thru it.. omg man i didnt know my mind could do that.. it hit me harder then acid

ive done it twice. and both times i hated it. i thought iwas dying and it just wasnt enjoyable at all. most of my mates say it was probably because i was having a shitty week and i was generally in a bad mood.
there probably right. but im way too scared to try it again. very intense

The thing with salvia is, if you get the realy strong stuff, you could be having a conversation with someone, somewhere you've never been to before & it will all be in your head, it will look & feel totaly real, salvia is a very strange drug & isn't for the faint hearted !!!!

Ahh....salvia...my first time I smoked the leaves that one of my friends ordered offline. I laughed and laughed and laughed. It made the world beautiful. I couldnt stand up. It didnt last long though. Then I smoke the 30x and i was in the back of a car and while i was hitting it, out of the corner of my eye like what i was seeing started swirling...i dont know its hard to explain...it was like being taken somewhere else. I had absolutely no idea where and i thought i was talking to one of my friends, but it turned out i wasnt. The air was different. All the headlights were so pretty. I was listening to a song when I started tokin and then the song was the same, but yet it was totally different. It's awesome especially if you think about one thing while youre toking...you begin to understand whatever it is on a totally differnent level.

God, I have to quit posting here, I can't stand all of the bullshit that is spewed on these forums.

"Try some 10x, it's not that intense" - what the FUCK? I've only done 5x and I became a fucking wall, ok? That's like saying, "Just eat a ten strip man, acid is fun, you'll enjoy it more if you do more."

I've only done it once but in my mind it's just pointless. I mean, maybe if you take two hits of 20x and go to another planet it's more rewarding, but I've never seen anyone do salvia that didn't come back saying only stuff like, "My God, that was so weird... what happened???" I just don't think it's possible to learn anything by becoming a conveyor belt for five minutes. I can be extremely frightening as well as fun, I've seen people react both ways. But really, it's just silly. Try it, whatever, might as well since it's so easy to apprehend, but don't expect to learn anything about your life from it because you won't, you won't even remember who you are while you're tripping.

it's just salvia, and it is different. it's not positive, it's not negative. it's what you make of it i guess.
the best way to describe it is "strange". but to say you learn nothing from it, i'd argue against that. you just learn to live with being very uncomfortable, because salvia can be very very uncomfortable. i've never lost control, i thought my life ended the first time i tried it. it felt like i was reborn, i had become a new me, and then i forgot the old me and thought i had been there forever. there being where i was, i call it salvia land. it was a 4 minute trip.

just expect the unexpected. it's no lsd, but it has it's purpose.

Dude! thats so weird that you say becoming a conveyor belt...Thats exactly what happened to me!! and I felt like everyone else in the world that was smoking salvia at that moment was shrunken and on the conveyor belt with me...and we were conveyor belting our way through the chapelle show...holy shit, what the hell is our mind doing??

3 times and I still dont know whether its the greatest or worst visionary. 1st trip I felt Paranoid/euphoric I toked it from a pipe 2-3 times with 10x. 2nd experience was the most intense same stuff just from a hooka watching "the rejected" by Don Hertfeld and it was instant the TV talked to me and told me to lay down, I was traveling through space with my TV and couch, and then as I was coming back reality or my room was appearing as voices asked if this is how it looked before, then I would lapse and everything would melt away and the voices would rebuild my reality.... needless to say it was vivid and intense. 3 Expierience my brain didnt want to lose the reality for fear or never returning and everything looked like a circus full of colours and darkness at the same time. No voices this time but as soon as I stood up and turned the lights on the trip stopped untill I turned the lights back off. not as crazy but it was 3 times as scarry, not for the weak at heart I think my heart rate went through the roof and I began to sweat.

Definatly give her respect.

My friend tripped out on 20x in my living room... after about 1 min he was peaking I could tell because he couldnt make out a single word. I told him its ok and it will be over in a few minutes. Well heres the deal he took my words out of context and this is how he heard and saw it.... He sait We where in the room but the room was a giant basket ball. He was trippin beacuse we where being dribbled, he was scared of being on the bottom when the ball was being dribbled. And when I told him everything was ok he said he had just asked me a question."is this how its sapposed to be?" He interpereted my words for "yes everything is fine this is how it ends" Needless to say my calming words escallated his trip, now he thought we had been waiting our whole lives to be crushed by this basket ball....

Salvia is not ment to be "FUN". It is truly the strongest psychadelic I have ever done. And i have done a lot. LSD. Shrooms, Mescaline, MDMA and 2-CI to name a few. Salvia is not a social high. It works best for me in the dark with ambient music going. If you try to fight lady salvia you will lose, you must let her take you where she wants to take you. My first experiece I felt as if I was riding a dragon and he was showing me the most beutiful things. ***** DO NOT TAKE SALVIA LOOKING FOR A FUN TIME**** because lady salvia will kick your ass if you are unprepared for her.

Oh yea, I would also like to mention how much salvia has helped my depression. Don't ask me how, but I smoke a little on occasion right before bedtime. Not a profound amount, just enough to alter perception and increase the lucidity of my dreams. It also help me get to sleep and sleep longer when done this way. When taking true spiritual doses I take about 2 hits of a 60x extract I got from salviadragon.com. Awesome drug for the strong minded!
