How can there be a standard for perfection? Isn't perfection objective? What one person's idea of perfection is may NOT be perfection to someone else.

Mathematically, you could have a perfect circle, right? However, is it not impossible to have finite perfection?

When you strive for prefection in your life - be it in appearance or attitude, what are you chasing? The pursuit never ends, but is it justified?

I believe it is time for me to have something to eat.

BTW - Kayleigh did this to me.

perfection is seen differently by each person
striving for your own perfection is never pointless
however trying to achieve someone elses idea of perfection is

sometimes I think at work you can end up being burnt out if you try for perfection every working day, I was once told by a college that ' its ok sometimes to be good enough'
i don't think its always possible to live up to our own ideals.
BTW Hacker I totally blame you for this, I was going to be going to bed, this place is soooo addictive isn't it?

She both showed me perfection (in my eyes) as well as proved it doesn't exist, which I contend it does exist, but not as a standard everyone agrees with. To each person perfection exists.

That's my opinion, but I could be wrong. I'm NOT perfect.

I believe you mean perfection is 'subjective' because every person has their own idea of what perfection is.

I'm not sure there is any such thing as an objective perfection myself...
espiecally if you look at too people idea of a beautiful perfect looking woman, you'll always get two completly different answers.

do you feel able to share how she showed you perfection then showed you it did not exist, or is it something best kept private?

While that is also a valid statement - subjective - I meant objective - Having actual existence or reality.

It would probably make more sense in the context of my collection of words if I HAD put "subjective".

True...

Being subjective beings it would be beyond us to see anything objectively... because in reality... there is no such thing as 'truth'...
If there is no truth then there could be no reality either.

If nothing is true, nothing is real.

Hey, and if there is no truth there can also be no lies. That is defining a lie as an aversion to truth. Is it a lie if you believe it to be truth?

BTW - Kayleigh did this to me.I really don't think there can be a standard of perfection, because the perception of it varies depending on the person, really.

I was just thinking that I think nature is perfect, because it always finds patterns in its choas, its only when humans try and impose their idea of perfection on it that we screw it up royally

D, you can say whatever you want about me, so long as it's not a lie

In my opinion, perfection is an ideal. It's not real, it's unattainable. It's an unreachable goal. Nothing wrong with ideals/goals/dreams, but, it's not somethign that truly exists. Everything and everyone is imperfect, to varying degrees.

And is also imaginary.

they make us us
unique, and beautiful

but not perfect. Perfect is without flaws, it's an ideal. It's not real, it's just... elusive, unreachable, but a great thing to want/reach for

is kayleigh the girl who likes marillion - thus kayleigh?

socially speaking sometimes someone can make a personal gesture with exactly the right amount of generosity, forethought and creativity so much it makes you love em - thats not as in partners but just real friendship - that is usually when i think something was 'perfect' - it melts you in a way that confirms your friendship is as deep as you suspected

however if I'm painting a picture or recording a song - I'll strive and struggle and juggle and jive for days/weeks/years until I get it as near to what to my eyes/ears is perfection, but usually end up accepting it with it's flaws because go any further and I'd risk insanity - but apparently this is the boundary many famous artists crossed - their work would literally become an obsession to the point of possibly no return

- just cos she dances go-go - don't mean that shes a whore - no

But for each person their idea of perfection may be attainable. Perfection is a perception that can not be defined for every person in one definition.

I see perfection every day. My perception of perfection.
