 I don't like the icons. I don't like that it logged me out when I didn't post for 10 minutes. I don't like that we had the same format, which I think WORKED REALLY WELL, for years, and this new one isn't better. I don't like that we all got our shit erased - though I know this is in no way Skip's fault - and apparently it might come back. And most of all, I don't like that the new format has no style, no pictures - it's really freaking boring.
I know there's very little to do about this now, but I don't know what great "features" we're supposed to be getting out of this. I especially don't like being logged off - it's one of the things I liked about HF all this time - that you could write as long as you want and know that you wouldn't lost everything, or that you could surf around for links and come back and be able to post without re-logging in.
I know, I'm nitpicking - but I REALLY loved the old format. Maybe I don't deal well with change.

this doesnt belong in this forum.
Laughin Willow,
Like most things on this forum, whether you get logged off is an option you control. You just need to give it time. There's a lot more here than meets the eye at first glance.

Ok Skip - like I said, I don't deal well with change - especially after something like five years with the old format! :)

Skip, you say that there is an option for automatic logout, but I've been poking around in User CP and haven't found it, where be it?
Laughin Willow, are your cookies disabled?
LOL!
That's just such a weird question to ask!
Is anyone else having this problem? (Logging out after 15 minutes?)

I haven't had it...
The box to stop you logging out is next to where you type your password to log in I think :)

Auto logoff is OK! Think of all the folks that live with others and sometimes forget to finish their post before its done...we wouldn't want someone completing our sentences and such...
The new format is indeed different, but without change we get stale. So a bunch of the old posts are possibly lost...not a huge deal...the people here will fill the forums in no time!
Nothing but fun!

how the heck couldnt you like this more, vbulletin is so much more up to date, and just all around better. My only complaint is it is harder to see all the different forums cause the list is soooo long.
LaughinWillow~if you open up the 'who's online' page in anther window, it'll keep you active. that page automatically refreshes all the time.
the only weird thing about doing that is that you'll look like you're stalking people all the time. LOL
this is the page i'm talking about http://www.hipforums.com/forums/online.php?order=asc&sort=username&pp=20&page=1

The naysayers should chill.
Anybody from the old forums can join up again, its not that hard. So there should be no loss of friends.
Plus this is much better bulletin board software. Trust me I have been using vb since version 2 came out, as well as a few other programs and VB3 puts them all to shame.

Apparently 100 posts does indeed make you a member.
Anyway theres a logout button in the upper right hand corner below your name.
If that doesnt work you could go into tools, then internet options, and delete cookies. Its probably a good thing to do this from time to time anyway. But be aware it will wipe any current auto password/loggins you have.
