You wont find it. It has been wiped out of Arizona practically. You can visit this website, and become a member of the Peyote Way Church. They do ceremonies in arizona.

I would suggest you to forget about it. People like you wandering out in the desert steal peyote is driving the species to extinction. You can opt to join an American Indian church, but I would advise it. If anything, joining a legitimate church for your obvious illegitimate reasons would do nothing more than take their religous rights away. You probably would score some anyways.

as far as i know peyote doesnt grow in Arizona naturally, it grows along the Rio Grande Valley of Texas.
It grows in a very hot and dry climate. El paso Texas probably has some there and into mexico. I know the Rio Grande Valley on the Texas and Mexican side is where it grows, the only problem is identifying it properly.
Lophophora williamsii and Lophophora diffusa are 2 separate species. The species you will want will be the williamsii.

Peyote does grow in southern arizona/northern Mexico in the deep desert.
But that desert is inhabited by Coyotes (the human kind), illegals, and dope smugglers- not to mention Immigration, DEA, and Customs agents.
You might get your ass shot-off out there looking- hardly worth a 20 mile hike.

Peyote are endangered in the wild, aren't they!? If you do that Mescalito is probably gonna smack you around ;) .
Just buy some plants or get some seeds... research grafting and in due time you should have some buttons.

There have never been ANY confirmed reports of wild collection or naturally growing L. Williamsii in either NM or AZ by cactacea specialists. (see K. Trouts notes) There is only a small area of Texas where it has been confirmed by field experts and yes it is EXTREMELY dangerous to your health and freedom to try to harvest it in the wild.

well i useto live there, the indians aslong as they have a tribal church mebership are aloud to use it and grow it besides that i think itl be hard to find, i think are are some places were it grows naturaly but not somewhere ur going to beable to find it and as for dealers thatl be hard becuase no dealer really has time to grow a cactus for 9 years unless theyr going to make a MAJOR profit off it.

PLAAAA!
IN the 60's when I was a kid, I ran into hippies out in the desert near Phoenix when I was riding a dirt bike quite often. Guess what they were doing?
I know a Mexican who grew up on the other side of that border. He and his freinds grew-up on native peyote.

ya, but these days it just isn't kosher for folks like us to take wild peyote unless it's harvested soundly and done in proper settings with proper mindset and so on....honestly it just sounds like this kid wants to have some fun....just my opinion, which of course is worthless.
free hallucinogens growing wild in the desert in abundance led the hippies to harvest them in large quantities. of course as slow growing as peyote is it pretty much decimated the population. though i've heard people say the natives have no trouble finding it, just white folks, that peyote is more than it appears and it chooses to reveal itself and its location only to people looking in good faith and spirits, people who will harvest it with care and treat it with respect, people looking for more than a "trip"....

Howdy Folks...I want to thank all you folks out there that have the mind set to respect this Holy Sacrement.
This Medicine is the stuff of legends...well it seems that way to from reading all these posts.
I have peyote growing on my house for the last 10 years or there abouts. They were harvested by a relative of mine, from the gardens down by Laredo.
Just this years a few of them grew some pups...2 sprouted out from the momma, and one either sprouted out from a root or germinated from the numerous seeds that are produced.
Well I guess the point to this post (maybe there is no point really)...is to say this: the Medicine is considered to be a living spirit and this spirit takes care of it's self. This spirit will finds you, if it's meant to be, and bring it into your life.
It would make sense that one would make a good relationship with this spirit, so one behaves in a good way, to keep this relationship healthy.
I know for a fact that our church members pray for the abundence of the Medicine and the Medicine has responded in kind.
By the way...it's not the color of your fleshy robe that determines weither the medicine will reveal Itself to you, but a pure heart. A-ho.
