Shelf life of hash?

Ive got some really good hash but Im getting tested for the next few months so I wont be able to smoke it any more for a while. My question is how long should high quality hash keep its potency? Should I just give it to friends or wait to smoke it with them when I can? Any reccomendations on storage? Right now its just in a smell proof bag.

I want to regain my parents trust because that is important to me (they pay for my education). Anywho, I cant freeze it without them finding it. Its in a dark cool place in the smellproof bag. How long should it retain its potency?

few months probably without losing significant potency...sometimes commercial hash is shelved years before being smoked

actully it get better with age with the best being about 5 years so you should not have a problem

yeah, that is one reason why they make hash in the first place. you probably should store it in a cool, dry place, preferably a refigerator

About 2 years ago I went to some party, got steaming, and the guy's mum (who's party it was), presented us with a piece of hash that had been in storage for a year or so. I smoked half a joint of it in my pissed state and whittied violently in the front garden. It gave me a huge hit though, it had gone really strong.
