lol, I mean, it sounds intelligent enough, and Kirk Cameron is sitting next to him, so of course bananas must prove God's existence....jk.
Hell of a theory though, it does make a lot of sense when you think about it.

atheists can believe in intelligent design.
of course, this doesnt take into account the various othe species of bananas which do not fit perfectly in the hand. the species which more often than not do not gracefully open around one's hand.
the 'non slip' surface is a product of the human hand not the banana skin, for all fruits (and almost all natural foodstuffs) can be gripped easily with any hand which has fingerprints.
outward indicators of course being due to the fact that each colour represents a stage in chemical nature of the banana, and it is just the case that the yellow stage of most fruits is that which is most healthy for us. there are of course animals who eat bananas when green, and many organisms who could probably only make use of a banana in its brown stage.
no matter how teh banana was shaped, it wouldnot spill onto your face, and tabs such as that on a can are based on principles that we have learnt, which we can apply to anything with appropriate shape. of course if god intended the tip of the banana to be a tab, he probably would have designed other fruits with such a tap, like a mango. fuckn mangoes deserved to be designed better!
as for teh curve of teh banana (and in otehr examples hes given and ones above), well it is pretty clear that the banana is one of thousands of different fruits, many of which are definately not simple to eat, not the perfect shape for human consumption.
but bananas are awesome! theyre awesome because out of all our fruits, they satisfy so many criteria!
of course, we all knew these things right? didnt need me to come and say this?
but i think its appropriate to identify these flaws whenever laughing at them. i dont even think its funny really, for this stuff rings absolute perfect sense in the majority of people around the world. without identifying these errors whenever they are adressed, teh world will remain in the grips of one directional logic, when really such logic can prove anything

The intelligent design of bananas they speak of done was done by human beings. This was done by centuries of cultivation and breeding of banana trees by humans. Most cultivated fruits and vegatables are very different then their wild cousins. Why? because of human beings have selectively breed them for desireable characteristics, for taste, size and shape of fruit, etc. Cultivated froms don't have seeds but wild ones do. It is actually funny that people are trying to give god credit for something that hard working humans did. By the way, chimps don't naturally eat bananas(in cultivated form) because they don't exist in a natural enviroment.

mhm yes indeed! though once again funny in the non-laughing type of way, imo

Well. I think I'll go eat one of those wonderful bananas.
(Interestingly, they WERE intelligently designed. By humans)

yea i never said WHO designed it hehe
Yea, but all humans did with the cultivation was make them grow better with more yield. I wouldn't go as far to say they designed the curvature, the grip, or any other functions of the banana. It's still a banana, and it is food. All they really did was create a system for growing bananas for a specific timeframe, instead of having to walk threw the forests looking for bananas in fear of getting bitten by an anaconda or something vicious. Either way, IMO that food was put there for a reason, not only to feed us, but to show that their is some order in the universe that decided humans wouldn't eat fish or meat their whole lives, and other animals wouldnt just eat leaves and such, they would eat fruit, natures candy. Mmmm

Sometimes it is!! :D

Yeah, a very good point. Pesticides and all kinds of breeding and genetic selection ... bananas aren't what they used to be.
Heck maybe bananas used to have only FOUR sides!
Maybe they were curved the other way!!! (laughs)
Anyhow, did you know that if you take the actual fruit of the banana (minus the peel), and you massage it just the right way, you can break the fruit of it into three separate parts?
Oh yeah -- and for all Intelligent Design people ...
I got your Intelligent Design right here! I'm gonna "Intelligently Design" my fist into your skull! :X Mwahahahahah. ;) Watch out God, you aren't the only one!

lol yea i dont agree with anything they say, I just figured it would be an interesting topic to post. I still beleive in Intelligent Design, but never would I use that video to backup my claims haha.
Kirk Cameron was the shit on Growing Pains though you gotta admit that.

I don't like bananas. I think Kirk Cameron is bananas.Well Kirk Cameron was heavily involved with drugs and alcohol during his tv fame. So if finding god in Christianity saved him, amen. But to team up with that guy who is obviously bananas himself, well that right there show's how fanatic Christians are to try and show they are right with such a silly comparison. Just because god made bananas for early human like creatures doesn't mean you should follow Christianity.
Why do they beleive god created bananas for us when mankind was supposedly born in the Garden of Eden? Maybe their pro- intelligent design not Christian, hmm ill have to look into this.

I believe that they left out the most improtant feature of the bannana--its contoured shape for easy anal insertion.

That's hilarious, not that anal thing, the banana and God thing. Too bad about half the folks here took it way too seriously.

Dude! Don't give them any more ideas!
(I did notice that though...when you eat as many bananas as I do, you're bound to.)

Wow! I can't believe God actually learned a few things from "soda-makers" (the tab at the top of the banana).
Very amusing, but i'm still going to sleep soundly tonight.

People did change the size and shape, color, curvature, yield, etc of the banana. Natural wild bananas are small. Historical evidence has shown that people have been domesticating this plant for thousands of years. Most cultivated plants, vegetables and fruits are very different then the way they exist in their natural wild state. Take a look at a wild Tulips and a modern dutch variety Tulip, it is hard to tell that it is the same plant. Human breeding of plants can alter them significantly. Cabbages, collards, cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts, the kales, and kohlrabi are all one species(the same plant) Brassica oleracea. This was done by humans, through selective breeding of mutations (called sports in the Tulip industry). There are hundreds, if not thousands of examples of this in agriculture. It is a major part of the argicultural business, developing new varieties of plants and better versions of existing varieties. Their was some intelligent design to the Banana fruit but it was done by humans. Breeding plants isn't that hard, it just takes a lot of time(just like evolution).
