"You can't even taste it"

Does this sentence make sense to anybody, or is it just me that doesn't get it. I was talking to somebody about something called 'Plantation'. One of the ingredients was cream of mushroom. I told 'em I hate mushrooms and they said, "You can't even taste it". If you can't fucking taste it, what's the point of using it? :confused:
