Thief
My life you hoped to take from me,
By trading with futility.
Yet you will find my heart is free--
Strange and strong I've now come to be.
(Survivor of your misery)
Thief in the night I’ve grown to love:
Your deadly push became my shove
Away from the rot you reek of,
Hidden in euphoria’s glove.
(But I chose forward, and above)
I found a gift within your doom,
A secret door, a hidden room--
Away from gray ghosts born in gloom;
A place where flowers still will bloom.
(It is my haven, not my tomb)
My life you hoped to take from me,
By trading with futility.
Yet you will find my heart is free--
Strange and strong I've now come to be.
(Survivor of your misery)
Thief in the night I’ve grown to love:
Your deadly push became my shove
Away from the rot you reek of,
Hidden in euphoria’s glove.
(But I chose forward, and above)
I found a gift within your doom,
A secret door, a hidden room--
Away from gray ghosts born in gloom;
A place where flowers still will bloom.
