remember the old days, when games used to be based on gameplay? damn, i miss those days. now it's like the game industry is trying to mimic movies, always having intricate storylines which involve a little bit of gaming. and games are ALL about getting you to go out and get the next one these days... dammit.

good ol' megaman, the old final fantasys, all those wonderful old games with cartoony graphics and enough storyline to keep you happy but rarely exasperated.

some games are good today, don't get me wrong. it's just.... not the same....

(great new forum btw)

Totally agree, only recent game I play that Im all about is Fight Night 3 for PS2. If you never tried it, Im saying shit is mad tight, most realistic boxing game ever, just as addicting as the classic games!

ya? hell man, i'll have to try it...

yeah, i just miss the days when not every game was so obsessed with having viable storylines ... lol half the games from back then are just ridiculous storylines with no real reason haahahah, makes them so fun... you still get them now and again these days, but not the same :P

Hello There,
I have recently gone out and bought myself Black and white 2.. I got upto about the sixth level in the game and its really hard to get pass.. I find these games can be addictive.. My favourite all time game is Bubble Bobble.. You know 100 levels and every password is 3 letters long so if you spend 2 hours typing in the codes and combination you will get to level 100. I loved the Snes Zelda version but the N64 version scared me with the 3D spiders.. I am arachniphobic so therefore i cannot play any games with giant spiders on them..
I got into doom with a cheat for infiniate Health.. You remember the commidore 64's... Ever play friday the 13th where you are to run around and keep away from Jason.. Remember waiting all day for it to load up with the flashy red colours.. and then they crash.. Once again you spend your days with

FRIDAY 13TH
"PRESS PLAY ON TAPE"

Now you get a console its over expensive the games are just about graphics and there isnt that momentum that they once had..

Yeah, I love the old games. Super Nintendo is probably still my favorite system (Though I sold it a while ago with all my awesome games...That was really dumb...). It's pretty cool when new games have nice platform stuff in them (if they're well made).

Ya know what I miss? Scores!! I mean some "modern" games have them. But it was cool when games were all about getting that high score and competing with friends over it. Last "modern" game I remember having fun competing over scores was on Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, playing the VR missions and trying to get over each other scores. Hehe, guess we didn't have much else better to do back then ;).

Does any remember when you used to be able to flip the score over on them?

Satan's Hollow was such a great game.
"The Dark Scrolls warn of the perils of Satan's hollow. He, the Prince of Darkness, reigns over an infernal underworld so abhorrent, the grotesque gargoyles who safeguard his lair cower at his clovenhoofed approach. 'Tis he who rules surpremely his domain, by twisted swirls of flame and obediant creatures so wretched, no mortal dareth traverse the Bridge of Death crossing the River of Fire. Beware him. He is darkness, he is the omnipotent demon Lucifer, he is SATAN OF THE HOLLOW."

I just had a thought. Remember those old PC games for kids where you would click on things and you usually had to solve some sort of problem. Those were cool, hehe.

My favorite Arcade game was Gauntlet!!!

I remember when that first came out there were lines waiting to play. Oh, and Dragon's Lair was pretty neat too!

Yeah, I have those on my Commodore 64...and would you believe its set up on my desk in my room. Sometime's I urge to play older games. Some of which were greatly under rated and should be remade for the pc.
I usually go for the RPG games, always thought you get your money's worth with them, they take longer to solve.
I remember Gauntlet 2 in the arcade, there was a hidden level, and whoever found it got 50,000 bucks.
I do miss the old days when you can play an arcade game for only a quarter, and not for like 30 seconds either. Heck, one quarter for me, and I'll solve some games playing for hours.
Peace everyone
