I took some of this stuff last night and it did make me pretty spacey and have crazy dreams... but at the same time, got me REALLY down. I was wondering if it could be something like adderall. Like, adderall gets perscribed to ADD people to calm them down, but if you don't have ADD it speeds you up. Similarly, trazodone gets perscribed for depression and insomnia, so if you don't have depression or insomnia, it could make you depressed. Just a theory, because I can't think of any other reason for it to make me feel that way. Anyone have any experience with this or other SSRIs? If I had taken more than 1 pill, would it have been a more intense (possibly good) experience? I don't know... just trying to figure this weird drug out. Thanks!

Trazodone is not abuseable and could be harmfull in overdose. It is not an SSRI and is not chemically related to any other commonly prescribed ADs. Your theory about it working like adderall makes no sense. Adderall speeds people up because it is an amphetamine. Trazodone is sometimes prescribed for insomnia but if you are using it for this reason DO NOT EXCEED THE RECOMENDED DOSE. Please do not try to abuse trazodone or any AD and in future do some research before taking a potentially harmfull drug.

Huh. I checked Erowid first, and it says on there that trazodone is an SSRI. And the adderall thing makes some sense; all I was saying is that when you do drugs you don't have a perscription for, it can have an opposite affect from what it is perscribed for. Sorry, should have made myself more clear!

Um, I just saw that on Erowid, seems they are wrong in this case. I originally thought you were saying that because adderall makes non-ADD people high then ADs will make non-depressed people high. I apologise if I misunderstood.

In case you weren't aware...
Erowid is not God.
They can, and will, fuck up every once in a while.

Not an ssri, though it does effect the serotonin system. SOmetimes I had crazy intense dreams on it. This seems to happen especially when I was rem deprived for a while and took enough trazadone to knock me out. Yep if you take too much it can make you groggy and kinda depressed for the next day or so. The key with it is to find the sweet spot, 25 mg is good for me, while 50-100 made me groggy. (150 mg is a typical starting dose!). Yep no significant recreational value; decent drug for insomnia.
