Ok, here's the situation:

Your new wife (or husband) and infant child have been taken captive by the government, who have threatened to kill them in order to blackmail you to commit a terrorist attack, so that they have a pretext to enslave the country's population. The attack they want you to commit is to smuggle and detonate a small nuclear device in New York City. It is a suicide mission.

Do you do as the government says, and sacrifice your life to save your family, or abandon them to certain death while saving millions of lives and ensuring the government doesn't take over? Understand that the government is likely to hunt you down if you refuse, and that your family may not be allowed to live in either case. Explain your answer.

I would say I was going to do it, but I wouldn't do it. Instead while I went along with it I would try and gather evidence or do anything I could to expose them, yes risking my family and myself.

Of course I'd probably end up arrested by that same gov't that set me up, and shipped off to Guantanamo for being a terrorist. And what could I do? At least I don't care which way Mecca is...

Can anyone say, Bourne Identity?

I would tell them, okay, I'll do it.

And then get a bunch of guns, go down to the local police station, FUCK SHIT UP, take as many weapons and ammo as I'd need, get a kevlar vest, a riot shield, a riot helm, and then strap homemade (non-nuclear) bombs around me, walk into a government facility (preferrably the pentagon -- but if you used a nuke on the pentagon and killed others in the process, that might be okay), and FUCKED SHIT UP.

But think about this.

If all those people in NYC are expendable to your government,

What guarantee do you have that, once you die in the nuke, they aren't going to just kill your baby?

It seems dumb to kill millions of people to save one life, even if it is your child.

Every life is as sacred as the next, even if that is not true in relation to you.

Either way,~
they'll more likely pick another family
than magically heal their collective mind
of whatever demtia they must be suffering.

No f'n way it's going to be me, though...
Makes me miss that imaginary family already... <(-_-<)
Which will fuel my spirit for revolution later, I guess.

Still, I suppose I'll never really heal, hehe
