No More Links To Overgrow

Please people everyone knows overgrow is there by now, a lot of people get urned of by smartass comments and the general shredding of anyone who does not think like or run with the pack. This does not happen here so people are attracted to this website for that very reason. Your incesant links to overgrow are annnoying and meaningless- these people came for a different type of format to the message board and we will create it here. I am sure geck ,mean and a few other growers with actual knowledge from experimenting with the unknown-would agree- we strive for knowledge here and do not clown someone for thinking different than we do. Nobody knows it all here and overgrow is full of knowitalls.
please do not classify us with those other websites that when you ask a question all you get is a link to overgrow, there is enough onfo on onvergrow as it is.And enough generic websites that are just subsidarys of overgrow.

I go to overgrow all the time I have a gallery there too, but this place is different- please people give us oldschoolers a chance to teach ya something. were here, as often as we can get here.

The real focus on Overgrow (and this is where it fails) should be on horticulture.

You see, the old adage rings true - build it and they'll come.

By having, for example, the Gardening Forum tucked in away behind the the Smoker's Lounge, actually RC called it that and I'm not as polite as he then Overgrow obviously fosters the paradigms of teenager acolytes instead of gardeners. That's the root cause problem.

For example, the community there would rather talk about how they got caught smoking a spliff in a car park before school, than what's needed i.e. to work out the water filtration rates in a soil profile and then the timing/delivery schedule/rate of the irrigation. The sort of stuff anyone who gardens wider genera does know.

Thus Overgrow gets what comes because that's the signal it is about a.k.a. not fostering a gardening culture. You see, Overgrow actually values wider gardening less than the Politics room and on par to the most redundant of all forums, Stoner Rambling, because (at risk of repeating) it's tucked away behind the Smoker's Lounge in said forum order.

Set the real focus in Overgrow to solid horticulture and there will be less kids, less idiots and the real gem, no used TOG's of the ilk of PLAYn & Karma Girl exiled off to tend their flocks in the back roomed Smoker's Lounge.

I recall it back to May 2000. And ~S~ made OG as we see it and for the record, I was one of the people who pushed for the gardening forum.

It should be obvious that plants are plants (light, water, temperature, nutrients, air) and if one has the foundation in general gardening then they'll have far less drama with their Cannabis growing.

What doesn't a teach a thing is the endless drivel of the marijuana forum here. It is a playground for kiddies and it spawns the ridiculous. Stoner culture is not growing culture.

After you've answered the same redundant questions a few hundred times it becomes absurd. I now refuse to do so to a certain degree in light of the lazy, dumb asses I meet who want it all handed to them on a slilver platter, rather than doing some research.

The FAQ doesn't always get it right at OG either. For Christ's sakes, just have a look at the moronic submissions in that lame forum. Most of that crap is either stolen, plagiarised, or parroted from other cannabis websites.

You want to help a newbie? Then direct them to quality horticultural resources which includes books on what makes a plant grow, not on how to transition from 24/7 to 12/12 - anyone can flip a timer.

As for pointing out, and correcting misinformation in the FAQ at OG...where shall I start? Shall we start at the point where "Hopeful" stole my FAQ contribution post, was given credit for it by Medman in the FAQ contribution until 10K set the record straight? How about the time a mod (Snoofer) covered for Old Pink's "look at this first" drill, regarding my Plant Moisture Stress post, deleted all of my credible substance he could which made it look like shit, which made me look like shit, in which I raised so much hell that it's now pinned in Plant Problems correctly....don't want to step on any admin toes, eh? I'll undress anyone that deserves to be undressed.

Accordingly, I, and other horticulturists, refuse to contribute any longer to the OG farce.

For those that want quality info, it's to be found from college resources, books, and by researching the internet, NOT, from a stoner's FAQ. Famous last words from OG newbies, "well, I searched the FAQ and my plants still look like bad! What is wrong?"

It is the closedmindedness that gets me. But on the otherhand it can be somewhat like shakedown street. If ya poke around enough you can get some cool info. For example moonshinemanII did a cool thread on how to ship clones, I found it to be a very whorthwhile read. But ya really gotta search for the pearls in a swineload of crap.

Thanks for reminding me bill i gotta update my gallery there, my current thread there is of the grow that died when i went on a trip out of town. This grow going now is doing the insane growth thing. From 7" to 25" in 21 days with nugs included.

frankly i find theres a lot more info on over grow than on here, and people who visit the smokers lounge don't go into the horticultural forums, so your really not getting the same douches...your getting different douches. there are also way more pics and plan layouts on overgrow. all you have to do is get over the elitism and you'll be fine.

not saying this forum is bad, i mean it's always good to get a different prespective...but at most there are 10 users on this forum who really know what they're talking about, compared to more like 100 on over grow.

Overgrow is cool, i find a lot of knowledgeable people there.

But it is not a good place for a newbie to go- they will shred his confidence before he (she) has a chance to get a clue.
Overwhelmedgrow, so to speak.
Also in my high school kegger party days> I always found the smaller parties, were where you got to know people more intimately, smaller crowds make for better company. I feel this is the atmosphere fostered here, in our measly little forum.

OVERGROW is just another politicaly/financialy minded website. Soon they will be charging. I hate the fucking place. The research awnsers are there at times, but most of the growers there are just kids blowing bong smoke on their keyboards. I have seen a ton of bad advice on there. NONE HERE!!!!!!!
