... that the people on TV were real, that they actually were inside of the TV and that if I broke the screen, they would get out, really small.

I thought that clouds were made out of cotton, and that you could sit on them.

I thought that when you ate food, it was going in your body from your feet and then going up to your head, that the whole body was filled with food and water.

I thought you could have babies just cuddling with someone, or kissing someone.

I thought that when you tried to imitate a dog's bark or a cat's meow, they would understand you.

I thought they when I left my room, all my toys got together in the middle and started to talk.

I thought that the sun was in love with the moon.

I thought that mermaids really existed, and that they has castles under the sea.

When I was little, I wanted to marry my dad (like every little girl under 4 years old, I suppose!)

I wanted to work behind a cash register because I thought it was funny.

I also wanted to be a princess.

And I thought it was too cool to speak English.

I thought all those same things! Except I was so into the mermaid thing that my grandmother made me a tail to wear in the bathtub or swimming pool... I was Ariel! No one could convince me otherwise.

And your toys actually do convene and hang out in your absense. They have it on film. There's a documentary called Toy Story that's really awesome. There's a sequel, but it doesn't look authentic. I think most of it was staged to cash in on the masterpiece that the first film was.

I don't remember too many such things from that time... I do recall creating huge structures made of toys and blocks, just stacking them up or lining them together until the entire floor was covered in a huge design. I sincerely thought I had created a flying machine and that the structure made of toys and blocks would transport me places.

I would also build things with legos, and I would think of ways to enlarge them so I could go inside, or ride in them.

When I was little, I thought old age would never come...

When I was little, I thought being in an airplane would be scary

(There are so many more things I could add, but I gotta bounce now)

Until I was six years old, I thought that China was an imaginary country. I thought that it was some sort of mythical land that you only hear stories about, and that it wasn't actually real. That changed when I got a children's encyclopedia when I was that age. I remember that I was looking through there, discovered a page about China, freaked out, and asked mom, "Is China real?" :p

Also, when I was three/four years old, I thought that seven was an imaginary number. So, until I was about five, I would count, "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, etc."

I thought that my dad was a hero and that people were actually good...

ahh...the ignorance of a child.

I was rather realistic though, I did not beleive in any of the things mentioned above... I did have a wild imagination, but I still knew that it was not reality.

I thought the people on tv could actually see me watching them, and if you dug deep enough into the ground you would end up in China.

when i was little i thought god wasn't a very smart responsible "man" and that people were stupid for counting on him. i thought to myself "if i dont believe in the easter bunny, santa or the tooth fairy, then how can they believe in god?"

when i was little i thought it was impossible for there to be a god. where did HE come from? who created him? and why? and u know what? we still ask those Qs. in fact, ive been asking questions ever since i can remmeber and still got no answers. no one knows.

when i was little i thought by now i'd know it all. now i know we'll never know even a fraction of what we could possibly know.

when i was little, i thought adults were unfair and not as smart as they pretended to be. i was right.

when i was little i thought michael jackson was cool.

when i was little i thought i was a bad girl for humoring adults when they tried to "fool" me about certain things. i'd feel quite embarrassed that my intelligence was being insulted and that adults would go to such extreme measures to make me think a certain way when i already knew what i knew.

when i was little i thought alot... but not about silly things. i can't even remember any misconceptions i had. ah yes i did think it was impossible for people to have sex, as i had never seen an erect penis. when i learnt about "Stiffies" it all made sense.

when i was little:

i thought you had baby's out of your bellybutton, then i was told by my boyfriend(we were 5 i believe. lol.) that they come out of your "pee hole."

i thought the wine in our cupboard was apple juice and i winded up getting drunk

i used to run around in my underwear singing the theme song Freakazoid ("Freakazoid, Freakazoid, runs around in underwear, Freakazoid, Freakazoid")

I thought I was cool because I could watch Ace Ventura Pet Detective because it was rated PG13 and I was only 6

I thought that when my older brother went out for recess at school, all the kids sat in front of a big man who looked like Gulliver from "Gulliver's Travels", named Recess who sat in a big throne and gave speeches.

I rode the dog around the house in my pajamas.

I told my uncle I was a genius because I could whistle, I could braid and I could tie my shoes........but I thought I would never learn to snap my fingers.

I kissed the boy down the street up in my tree house for over an hour.

i remember quite clearly, though not contiguously, all the way back to before my mother gave birth to me.

i remember believing anything could be made to happen by enough people wanting it to badly enough.

i still believe people make things happen, just not quite the same way.

i rememeber remembering having lived as an adult in a previous life and thinking i knew from those memories how a lot of things worked only to find out as i grew that many of those impressions were not tangably accurate memories, yet as impressions of things that could eventualy exist here they were in many instances in that sense accurate or at lest true, after all.

i remember thinking it was wrong to give animals the kinds of names people give pets or to treat them as other then equals, and if we did name them like we do children, we should give them our family's last name just the same way.

i still feel that way and cringe every time i hear someone give a pet the kinds of names most people still do.

i remember having a kind of 'truith sense' and still believe that nature gives all children this until parents and schools enculturate it out of them.

i remeber hating being expected to be 'childish' because i was a child.
