Too many forums?

Maybe its just me, and I am by no means trying to step on anyones toes. But Might it be possible that there are to many sub forums? Its a great board and all but it can be a daunting nightmare of information!

Perhaps some things could be condensed together?

Things look a tad sloppy...

Again just a view from someone who has run multiple forums and ventures often to far to many!

The ones that prove to be inactive can always be deleted r. I hope it will be monitored and new forums trailed also, to produce a list of forums all of which are reasonably active. I for one would love to see the New Zealand and Asia forums given another go.

Heres another thought, the front page could contain only the category titles, looking like this:

Annoucnements
Hip Arts and Culture
News and Issues
Mind Trips
Alternative Lifestyles
Image Galleries
Travell and make friends
Other Languages
Forum Issues
ETC

Then you would click on one of the categorys and get a list of all the individual forums within that section.

It would greatly clean up the front page and make browsing the whole Hip Forums a bit easier.

You might be right...(all the scrolling can get on one's nerves, really.) But I think it's also good to see at once the great variety of topics, especially if you are a "stranger" here. Especially because the sections are sometimes named... quite unlogically. Since when is Parenting an alternative lifestyle for example?

Yeah, but on the old site I only every used the writers forum, now they are all on one level I also visit poetry, art, uk, Europe and vegetarian.

As more forums are added more catagories may be made, some forums may be turned in to catagories with forums under them..

You CAN make your fron screen only display catagories.. In the top right corner of each catagory is a Double Arrow symbol, click on it and the catagory will windowshade.

Agreed, I think that there are too many forums - but more so, too many subforums. IMO, any forum that has more than 5 or so subforums, can be condensed, mashing two or more into one.

Way Way Way too many forums.I won't be viewing or posting in this place anymore.Its too 'slow' moving,not much action.
