If you are really sick of your meds, why not try speaking to your GP to see if there are any alternatives?

Depending on what your taking, generally it's bad to stop antidepressants/anti-anxiety/mood stabilizers etc. cold turkey. If you want to quit taking them, you should not only discuss it with your doctor, but do your own research on it as well. Take coming off effexor, for example; your dose should be slowly reduced, and even then many people experience withdrawal. Not all psychiatrists address this very well, either.

Yeah, definitely don't quit cold turkey... I did and it did some pretty wierd things to me, but I sort of prefer it to being all doped up.

I was on effexor and went off it cold turkey. On it, it made me more crazied then not. Everyone is different and some should go off cold turkey versus not. But leave it to the professionals to decide that.

I was not stable at all on it, but to each his own they say. Maybe you need to change your meds. Being off meds all together is better for you age. I was on them and then off them just as quickly. When you are 15 and there is no highly underlying pyschological disorder being on meds can be hard tricky to say.

Ive never stayed on meds very long because I believe that I should find my own to get through my thoughts and emotions......but sometimes I wonder if medication might actually help me in ways I cant help myself. Talking honestly to a doctor and getting second opinions would probably be very helpful though in this case.

This is why I like valium. All long term, every day dose anti-anxieties/depressants have always turned me off after a month or so. If there just happens to be one day a week where I'm freaky, a valium just takes the edge right off and I'm functional and I don't have to be constantly dosing myself when I'm feeling alright.

Soma ahas helped me a bit but it will take a long time to get alright.

I still want to try this stuff, just for the name.
