here's my favourite hummus recipe:
in a food processor, dump in:
- 2 cans chick peas, drained
- 2-3 cloves garlic (mmm, garlic....)
- 1-2 tblsp tahini
- enough lemon/lime juice to make this all puree smoothly, usually 2 limes, 2 lemons
Puree until it's thick like peanut butter. Dump into a bowl and mix in some fresh cilantro to taste. I sometimes mix in a bit of my favourite hot sauce to make it spicy.
Just an fyi - if tahini is hard to get ahold of, peanut butter makes a good enough substitute. (Tahini is a nut paste, it's a binding agent that keeps the whole thing from separating.)
