Prozac...

hey guys ive just been taking prozac for 2 months now, started off with 10mg then up to 20mgs. i was feeling a little better the second month with the 20 mgs. things wernt bothering me anymore like they used to, i felt relaxed. but a week ago i was sick with a cold, and took some robotussin dm, and 1/2 hour later i started tripping like i was on acid, but in a bad way, i was really scared so i went to the bottle and read that robotussin is not to be taken with maoi's or ssri's. i was like oh fuck so maybe i just tripped off the dxm in it or something, so i was fucked up for a while then went back to sleep and woke up hung over? then the next couple of days i started to hallucinate around the same times every night, it was a routene thing, after i would dream these crazy dreams i would wake up tripping like bein on acid. so then i stopped taking the prozac even tho my doctor said to take it every other day after i told him what happened, im starting to feel normal again, i wonder tho i was reading up on this shit, i guess i could get seratonin syndrome? but i stopped taking it, but i dont know whats wrong with me and why that happend? i liked the prozac it made me feel good, now i dont know if i can take it anymore? has anyone ever experienced this? or know anything about this, some help will be greatly appreciated! thanks

if you take Robitussin DM in recommended doses it is ABSOLUTELY okay with Prozac, or ANY other SSRI.

I don't think any of this is related.

Prozac has a VERY long half-life.

You could miss it for a week and hardly effect the blood levels.

If you started feeling better withing a few days after stopping the Prozac, that is even more evidence that these symptoms are not related.

thanks for the info, but do u think its the prozac then? maybe i could just have an adverse effect to it? i dont know but i felt like it was working for me then all that shit happened??!! i want to keep taking it but i dont want it to hurt me either....

I think you should follow your doctors advice.

Try taking it every other day.

Then, if no more problems resume, perhaps you can slowly work back up to every day.

I doubt the symptoms you described are related to the Prozac.

I think it was probably just some freak thing that happened.

thats really weird, but lik photogra said, i doubt it has something to do with the prozac, but i could be wrong. take your doctors advice tho
