Okay, this poem sucks, I know. And I'm not really trying to be mean to anyone who fits the description. It's just about someone in specific I was compared to, so I'm doing a little comparison of my own. Out of bitterness and cynicism, of course.
Bitter Conceit
She's all there is and everything
But she's far too old for you
She's just too much for you
And she's lost all interest in you
I am everything, but nothing
I may be the perfect fit for you
But I'm just not enough for you
Because I'm only in love with you
Do you love her because
She's old enough to mother you?
I will mother our children
But I would never baby you
Have fun with your memories
Because she doesn't love you now
I'd always loved you
But you were always lost
Because she rides a bicycle?
But I ride mine all summer, too
Because she's big and strong and tough?
It's not my fault that I'm barely tall as you
I can't help that my waist and hips curve
Instead of running straight from chest to knee
I'm sorry for being polite and feminine
When you wanted overbearing androgyny
Do you love her because
She could win you in a fight?
You may be short as me
But I don't ever want to share your might
Have fun with your memories
Because she'll never be back
I was always here
But you were always lost
As she now is to you
Bitter Conceit
She's all there is and everything
But she's far too old for you
She's just too much for you
And she's lost all interest in you
