Two nights ago
I learned how to share
the surprise given
from peer to peer
all around the city
on the trains
on the busses
I must be so divine
now, living like a princess
only getting out of bed
to eat and drink
the water as valuable
as the ambrosia
offered only to gods
God, I feel so divine..
for being so weak and dainty-
like a princess should be
but the only power that i can control
is in my head
I have to let my body do the rest
Its been 3 days now
since i received this gift
and my symptoms have
begun and stopped and shifted
and left me in this bed
as helpless as a child
at the mercy of her mother's breast
but this time alone
and weary
but not afraid
i have 3 days until finals
and 5 until my flght home
this is just a simple pretest
that i am going to ace
and i will pass this flu
through my body
like its nothing
because its nothing
like what i've had to face
before
