you might have not read the title it said best UK based bands= bands from the UK though you are right that there are too many good bands from UK and America and everywhere for there to be one best band.

I could make a huge list of my favorite bands but i'll shorten it down to this; Jethro Tull, Supertramp, YES, Boston, Styx, Neil Young and Crazy Horse, David Bowie.. the list goes on

I must say I love me my Beatles... also Rolling Stones... but the Who is just badass. Not as well known... didn't sell as many records... but the music is awesome blossom. In my world, the Who defines the word "rock" .

awww... but any British rocker is great. I'd bang any member of the Rolling Stones just for that guitar riff in "Satisfaction" .... come on, you all know what I'm talking about! hahaha. I don't believe him when he claims he don't get no girly action... liar! :)

oh, but what am I saying... I love John Lennon's music. All of it... just so amazing... *sings to herself* Actually, the only time I cried the last year in school was when I snuck in a radio under my sweatshirt and "Imagine" came on. I dunno what it made me think of, I guess I was just thinking of him in general and the song and everything... anyway I just started crying.:& nobody even noticed anyway, so luckily I didn't get caught.

The Beatles are a glorified boy band and totaly over rated.

The Stones or Queen would get my vote.
But I also like a lot of less mainstream bands like King Kurt, Meteors, Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band

Damn... lover/young_peace and I are the only people who ever mentioned The Who. Damn, I can't believe they weren't at least just mentioned a little more in there somewhere. I agree with the Beatles being said, and The Yardbirds, and most of the others, but good stuff was left out. Come on, as Roger Daltrey has said: "... The Who are the best fucking rock 'n' roll band in the world."
