Lube

Hi All,

1. My girlfriend and I are new at this. What is the best and safest lubricant(for her and I to use)? Which brand and type?

2. I am uncircumcised, is it safe to use lube? Is there a special cleaning technique?

Hi Greenbean,

I'm sorry no one answered your question earlier. My two favs are Astroglide and KY Jelly. Stay away from oil-based lubes that contain petroleum jelly (look at the back of the bottle!) as they will cause latex breakdown and promote tears in condoms. Keep an eye out instead for water-based lubes like the two I previously recommended. As for type, you two will have to experiment on your own but from my previous experiences, the "warming jelly" is a little on the... reactive side. Stick to regulars and basics if you're not sure.

You should survive, uncircumcised or circumcised. ;) There is no special cleaning technique other than getting creative with your partner perhaps? Just rinse off or wash off is what I mean.

As a sidenote, you should be stimulating her so that her own juices are flowing too. Lube helps if it's your first time or she doesn't produce so much of her own fluids. If you're having anal sex use condoms, and remove it or change condoms if you're moving to vaginal intercourse afterward.
