I love Tool.
My cousin went to one of their live shows( I heard they got banned from the venues around here due to rednecks and shit).
But he ate a lot of acid that night and he said he didnt know if it was the acid or the band, but they had their bodies painted and the colors of their bodies were changing around.
I would give a toe to see tool live.

What do you think about A Perfect Circle?
Personally I like tool better, but A Perfect Circle is good sometimes, but nothing compared to Tool.

My hubby likes Tool, but I'm more of A Perfect Circle fan myself, they're more mellow.

Personally I like tool better, but A Perfect Circle is good sometimes, but nothing compared to Tool.I feel like they can't really be compared. They're just different, APC being the feminine manifestation of Maynard's musical mind, Tool being the more masculine.

thats a very good way of putting it.

we can't let this die.....you lame fuckers.
i dont think that that is an inetesting way of putting it, because every reviewer out there says that. i would say that APC is more of a pop-ier sound... if you were to compare them. and they are also less complex.
so his royal ganjness what do you hope to hear on the new album??
TheGanjaKing

I've never heard reviewers say that about APC....
but what I'm hoping for is a mix between Opiate and Aenema....keep it technical, but don't go pussy like APC....don't get me wrong, I love APC, and I think they are really really bad ass, but they just don't do the same thing for me that TooL does. Keep the old school TooL sound and they will have a real bitchin album.
well i think that they should develop the old school sound, because bands that sound the same album to album ... well arent interesting... i think lateralus/ aenima were good, opiate was amazing feeling.... lateralus and aenima are about the same to me... aenima being more like opiate i think in the feeling to it, and lateralus being more ... more technical... which is badass
i think whatever it is its going to be bad ass ... cause tool is a really definitive group

Lateralus was the least favorite of the albums for me. I think it was fucking awesome, but I feel that they did something different, and it may or may not have been a good thing. I think this next album might follow in the footsteps of that, and thats a good thing.
it did feel less played... like less original stuff and a lot of ... overdubs and stuff... like less one take that rawness that was in opiate

I'm thinking that pretty much no matter what direction they take, as long as they still at least sound like TooL, the album will probably kick ass. I have faith in them, and I think they will come through like always and most certainly will not disappoint.
agreed
what else what else
on toolband.com US DATES FOR TOOL have been announced...for before they go to europe...
im so going to try to go... haha

Has there been any more talk of the double tour Maynard wanted to do? For a long time I was hearing talk about him doing a Tool/APC tour. That'd be fucking rough, but I, along with many others I"m sure, would pay out the ass for a show like that. Maynard is probably......definitely the best male vocalist in recent history. He's got such a range, and great brilliance.

i dont want him to ruin his voice by playing 2 sets every night. that woudl suck

I'm sure he could manage. Besides I doubt he would do two full sets. Probably the equivalent to one and a half and intermix the two as opposed to having one open for the other. That'd be my guess, atleast.
