What do you think of witch-themed tv shows and movies?

You know, The Craft, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Charmed etc... good? bad? indifferent? I kinda like the Craft and Charmed, but it is a bit teenagerish. Someone ought to make a serious movie like The Passion of the Christ but Wicca themed so that folks take it more seriously, but that's just my opinion...

I agree, a movie like that would be so cool :)

As for the TV shows. I don't watch them (or much TV really). If people like them and appreciate they are totally fictional then that's cool. Otherwise people are liable to get stupid ideas like witches can fly or something.

WITCH: A Personal Journey (i think that's the name of it) is pretty good, as far as the "introduction to Wicca" genre goes. i like her writing style.

She also has an official website, if you're interested. There is a section where she gives a behind-the-scenes commentary for each episode of Mad Mad House.

I liked Mad Mad House alot. In fact I have it on vhs, but I'm in the process of having it transfered to dvd. There is supposed to be a Mad Mad House 2 this fall.
As for the other shows and movies, their okay. I do wish someone would make a more realistic movie.
There is an independant film that has been out a while called Drawing Down the Moon. I do know it was written and produced by wiccans. I remember seeing it in a back issue of Sagewoman. Haven't looked it up on the net so I'm not sure what it's about.
Have you seen the Wicker Man, and if you have, what did you think of it?

i really liked The Craft, it was my fave movie when it came out.. as for charmed, i can't stand it...... bleh. Sabrina is cute, not the cartoon but the real show.

I never watched Buffy.... At the time I wasn't in to it when it was on, and now it's on some specialty channels that I don't get... But I think I know of whom you're talking about....
