1) theres a guy who was murdered in the 51st floor of an apartment building, he's found slouched in his chair by a window. the window was closed and locked, as were the doors. the floor was damp beneath the window drapes, and the air conditioning was the only thing that could be heard in the apartment. the man had a bullet lodged in the back of his head. how did the murderer manage to kill him if everything was locked?

2) 'it's just my luck' screamed barney dribble. 'it was about 10:30 in the morning and for once i hadn't had a drink yet. i was driving along the highway doing the legal speed of 100 km per hour. my old heap just passed a safety and my license plates, license, and insurance were all in order. not only that, but i was even wearing my seat belt! so anyway, i'm driving along, i pass a couple cars, being certain not to go over 100 clicks, and the next thing iknow a policeman pulls me over and gives me a ticket.' what could barney have done wrong?'

3) imagine two bridges that are exactly alike except that every dimension of one bridge is twice as large as the other.for example, the larger bridge is exacrly two times longer, its structual numbers are exactly two times thicker, and so forth, which of the two bridges would be stronger, or is their strength the same?

4) if seven people meet each otehr and each shakes hands only once with each of the others, how many handshakes will there have been?

that should tide you over

3)The smaller bridge will be stronger. If the large bridge is twice as big in every dimension, it would need more support, support the smaller bridge did'nt require.

1) What kind of air conditoning was it? Central air, or the kind of AC machine that hangs out the window. If it was the latter, then he climbed in through that window. He also might of climbed through the vents of the central air conditioning.
1)Also, the floor was damp near the window, which means that the window might have been left open in the night, causing dew.

He shot him. I don't know, and you didn't ask, if the murderer escaped.

2) 'it's just my luck' screamed barney dribble. 'it was about 10:30 in the morning and for once i hadn't had a drink yet. i was driving along the highway doing the legal speed of 100 km per hour. my old heap just passed a safety and my license plates, license, and insurance were all in order. not only that, but i was even wearing my seat belt! so anyway, i'm driving along, i pass a couple cars, being certain not to go over 100 clicks, and the next thing iknow a policeman pulls me over and gives me a ticket.' what could barney have done wrong?' Either, 1) Barney passed a couple of cars that he shouldn't have. It could have been a funeral procession, a parade or a presidential motorcade. or 2) he passed where he shouldn't have, like a no passing zone, a stop sign, a red light or a sidewalk.

3) imagine two bridges that are exactly alike except that every dimension of one bridge is twice as large as the other.for example, the larger bridge is exacrly two times longer, its structual numbers are exactly two times thicker, and so forth, which of the two bridges would be stronger, or is their strength the same? All things being equal, the larger bridge would carry twice the weight.

Build a one inch scale model of the Golden Gate Bridge out of identical materials (steel, concrete and orange paint) and drive on it. Your car will crush it.

4) if seven people meet each otehr and each shakes hands only once with each of the others, how many handshakes will there have been?21
Person #1 shakes hands with the other 6 people (but not himself)
Person #2 has already shaken hands with #1 so he shakes hands with 5 other people (but not himself).
Person #3 has already shaken hands with #1 and #2 so he shakes hands with 4 other people (but not himself).

And so on.

Each person initiates one less handshake than the person before him.

So:
#1 = 6 Handsakes
#2 = 5 Handsakes
#3 = 4 Handsakes
#4 = 3 Handsakes
#5 = 2 Handsakes
#6 = 1 Handsakes
#7 = 0 Handsakes

6+5+4+3+2+1=21

Do I win?

lol you guys crack me up
to end the post i will say that the murderer escaped, i thought that was kinda obvious but hey,

he left a block of ice in the window to hold it open and shot the guy in the chair from across the street through another window, then the ice melted resulting in the damp carpet and when it melted the window shut and locked

lol, the real joke goes like this: A man had been shot in his car and Sherlock holmes had to figure it out. The officer said:
"all doors are closed and locked, no windows are open or shattered, and the man is sitting inside the vehicle on the driver's window.

and the answer is:
The sun roof was open.
or
The car was a convertable.
