Resisting your pull
Is a necessity.
I feel it in the small
Of my back, a hook
Tugging at my skin,
at my spine, stretching
out along nerves to my
Fingertips. As I travel
Against my instincts, and the
Strings tangle and knot,
My wrists and elbows stick,
Knees lock, feet drag, stop
Start. Cogs grind, rust
Grows. Lassitude oils the works
Resistance slacks and my
Tired muscles slide into motion.
