Ok i dont put much of my poetry online, but i found out today an old friend of mine from college is very ill in hospital due to drugs. She always was a wild one, and i used to go right along with her - i calmed down, she didnt. She's in intensive care right now - she should pull out. but nobody I knew was online to talk to, so this is how i expressed the way i feel.
The High Life
I know a girl
Lives for the high life,
the alcoholics' haze,
peaceful minds and starshot eyes,
folowing white lines on a silent page.
I know her well,
traveller for tomorrow feeling
so like myself,
rolled up our sleeves together,
tripped societies' sodden creases,
slowly falling under the weather.
now I know a girl,
walks the smoke charred pathways,
snowflakes falling on her mind,
i sit and through the window i'm staring,
remembering my innocence,
dreaming and leaving my soul behind.
