so I read pests dont like citrus n shit.....so if I put like lemon citris extract n shit in a spray bottle and spray the plants down if they get pests will it get rid of them, then like a week later give the plants a firm but gentle spray with the gardening hose or what???

You don't want to spray your plants with citrus. To-night I'll post how to deal with insects in my outdoor growing thread.
