we're doing a school project and i need some other event to compare this with, so what should i compare it with?

The Boston Massacre?

The Bonus March? (WW I vets protesting for the bonus they were promised; police killed several)

There might be some incidents on the Salt March (Indianian independance from Britian) that might be good comparisons.

What aspect of Chicago in '68 attracts your attention? That would influance your choise of comperable event.

Hmm.. Chicago pretty much guarenteed Nixon the election. What similar event produced that kind of irony??????

i was thinking about the bonus march but i wasnt sure how alike they were. i was thinking i would compare it to another event with police brutality.

Bonus March would be a good comparison. You also might want to look at police reaction to marches in Northern Ireland for a comparison.
