Hey does anybody remember one-armed Joe? Short white dood with dreads, got busted in the lot at RFK (outside D.C.) in like 1989 (thereabouts) with a hefty bit of L. Anyway, I did time with him in VA for a few years, he got like 80 years (he was interviewed in an issue of Rolling Stone in like 1998 for a piece regarding insane drug war sentences) the fella helped to get VA sentencing regarding L changed, and if it weren't for his efforts I probably would have gotten a WHOLE lot more time, last I knew he was still going to court trying to get his sentence reduced. I have been out since 2003, and he still crosses my mind, I spent alot of time with the guy, and we had alot of convo's about family and touring and what not, I miss him. He misses the family alot, he was asking me anything and everything about everyone. I don't know if any of you wiser brothers and sisters remember this brother, but if you do, speak out. For those of you that don't (most) I just wanted to create some awareness about this amazing brother and the unjust circumstances babylon forced upon him, and others like him, we got alot of brothers and sisters behind bars, and far too often we tend to forget about them, but their hearts keep singing, and I know their minds often return to the joy they have felt with thier brothers and sisters, and I know from personal experience, it helps to know that family is always going to be there for you, through the dark tunnels, and waiting with open arms on the other side. So please remember One armed Joe and others like him, they remember us!! Please send all of your positive energy and love to these brothers and sisters, because they need it just as much if not more than the most downtrodden drainbow.
