Who here has read this book? I have also read The Tenth Insight and The Seceret Of Shambhala. These books have changed my life, and now they are making a celestine movie due for release spring 2006. one should really read the book to get the full understanding, but the insights are outlined below:

I look forward to the movie, that aren't many movies with mystical trips in them. I hope one day they turn autobiography of a yogi into a movie. and use special effects for all the neat visions.

The Celestine Prophecy, the original book, was fascinating and an enjoyable read.....but that was years ago. Funny how it took so long for the thing to get to film.
First, remember that the book is in fact fiction, though excellent fiction with some excellent ideas. Second, remember that there have been some fine books released even more recently.
If someone told me there would be a Carlos Castaneda movie made, I would probably hyperventilate lol.....

^^i've read up on don juan...his teaching seem to finally give some answers so to speak on how to deal with the challenges of the tonal in a better way...we are all warriors waiting for our will, i believe that. some of us just havent woke up to that fact yet :)

I read the celestine prophecy about 8 years ago, and it was the same for me. Life changing! It's not even that it was a well written book, it's just the concepts of awakening to energy and the true realitys in life. I have a bunch od other titles you might like if you liked that one!

Way of the peacefull Warrior by Dan Millman, anything by Paulo Cohlo(sp?), anything by Richard Bach particularly illusions, Damion and Sidhartha by Herman Hesse, just for a begginers list in fiction.
Nonfiction greats are Creative Visulization by Shakti Gawain, Remember Be Here Now by Ramm Dass, I could go on and on. Books were the one thing (next to way too much lsd) that really expanded my conciousness. The deeper and farther out they get the better I like them. Similar with people I guess.
hm, i think i've read almost all of those ones along my way.
i'll add carlos castenado, lynn v andrews, there's more...

It's amazing how the books seem to jump off the shelves at you when its your time for them eeh? That list is pretty elementary but important none the less. I've spent the last two years or so being obsessed with anything that has to with manifesting moving into 5d. 3 years ago I thought it was all crazy.

Hey, I just saw the movie!
Wowwowowoww!
Landmark Theater's picked it up...and the Bain Barnett guy you mentioned earlier...he produced it...and also produced What Dreams May Come. The actors aren't exactly 'no name' actors
Oh, I loved it! I read the book about ten years ago and it really changed things for me...the movie, whoa! My fear was that it wouldn't be true to the book and that it would be sllooowww....that's what happens sometimes with independent films, but I was happily surprised. I could follow the book along in my head and it wasn't slow at all..it zipped through the insights...sooooooooooo good. Highly recommended. I'm also excited to see how this affects the mass consciousness.
It's moving across the country right now. It's going to be in Austin, TX tonight...and James is moving along with it...speaking at premiere's.

I've read The Celestine Prophecy and I loved it. It really helped me on my spiritual path. It did have some Christian overtones, but I found it to be genuinely helpful. I've also read a few of the Carlos Castaneda books (Teachings of Don Juan, Tales of Power, Journey to Ixtlan, and the Fire from Within). Also, I think that there is a Castaneda movie that came out. Its name was Enigma of a Sorcerer, but I haven't seen it.

I bought a bunch of the Celestine Prophecy books at a yard sale last year. I haven't got around to reading them but I think I should.

We're watching Celestine Prophecy now...after one hour I'm interested in the concept but somewhat underimpressed by production and acting...we'll finish it up tonight and see what happens.

First I would like to say that the Celestine Prophecy was one of the first book that got me on my way. I do have to play the devils advoate though....great insights and idea's .....really poorly written. The way of the peaceful warrior (now a movie) by Dan Millman was also one of my favorites. Really these are stories to help open people up, make them think, while still showing a path. Carlos Castenada on the other hand does the same but allows a follower of this path to delve much deeper...one of my favorite authors to this day. Thanks for being everyone.
Peace be in you

Finished the movie...it got better. Interesting, but nothing there I haven't encountered before.

Agree there Spook - that was my reaction when I read the book a few years ago - a lot of re-hashed stuff from various sources. Similar in that respect to 'The Da Vinci Code'.

most 3 pronged naguals are cool......
After Castaneda's acclaimed books stuff like this comes out that can't even unloose the
threads of the sandals of the Godfather of the new age, but they think it's parallel.

i loved the celestine prophesy -book & movie (although i describe the film as 'the cole's notes version of the book'
if you like that book, try The Monk Who Sold His Ferarri by Robin Sharma...similar concept but more practical in terms of applying it to your day-to-day life.

This is just a re-telling of an old story. We can realise our divinity through love and compassion to our fellow beings. I suppose that message has to be repeated every so often in a different form for a new generation because the truth of it gets obscured after a while due to paedophile priests, corruption and the like, or else it's just a guy ripping off a tried and tested formula to make a ton of cash. It kinda bugs me though, how people don't realise that there's been others who have been trying to tell us the same thing throughout history. The story about the prophecy on the scrolls is just made up fiction isn't it? probably just like the stories about Jesus. The message is the same though. Actually, what really bugs me even more is that people start believing that these metaphorical concepts in the stories like the energy auras or the turning water into wine etc are actually real and are thereby completely missing the point. Anyway, the film was completely shit and will have absolutely no impact on global consciousness at all because there's not enough sex in it. I expect that there's new cults who've seen it and go round thinking they're special and respecting each others 'energy' - wankers.

Concepts and methods and vision contained within celestine prophecy are unfortunately way too optimistic to become true, as in "and everyone went ecstatic and lived happily ever after", even assuming everything contained are correct.

just a a small question? has anybody experienced the whole concept of changes in energy levels when interacting with a specific person?
i remember that comming up in the book, was probably the most enlightening aspect for me. The rest was all rehashed knowledge.

it happens to everybody everytime. feeling cheerier when with some particular person, or feeling down with some other particular person is an example of that.
