Ancient Light
An ancient light lies hidden
In each and every spirit.
To some it seems forbidden
If you have faith you’ll be near it.
The ancient gods presided
Over realms both vast and wide.
All mortal fates decided
By a single sweeping stride.
These deities were flawed
Plagued with human error.
There was no perfect god
Who unleashed his unjust terror
This ancient light would quiver
As countless eras passed.
The ancient gods would shiver
When a new shadow was cast.
The growing shadow swallowed
The peace of years gone by.
Much death and suffering followed
As the harmony would die.
But this is not the end
For the submerged ancient ways.
The Old would rise again
And would herald brighter days.
This is the ancient light
Whose pulse is growing stronger.
And when its shine is bright
We shall be suffering no longer.
An ancient light lies hidden
In each and every spirit.
To some it seems forbidden
If you have faith you’ll be near it.
