Infected hair follicle on penis? i hope thats what it is

On the shaft of my penis where what use to be what appered to be a hair follicle became enlarged and shortly there after turned into what looked and felt like a pimple, after a couple of days it drained and the pain went away, then it turned into a small flat white spot with a red area around it, 2 months later this spot is still there, its non painful and it hasnt gotten any bigger, and it moves with the skin, Im guessing that this is probbably an infected hair follicle, does anyone else have any other speculations as to what this could be?
Of course i have that worry in the back of my mind that it could be cancer, but i know thats highly unlikely.

i get this problem on my body all the time, not just on the genitals, the sore just wont clear up for months untill on closer inspection you can see the hair inside, sometimes im amazed at how long it has grown, once the hair is out, i usually pull it out with tweezers everything is cleared up with days but until then by god does it hurt! the nearest i could describe what it looks like before the hair is out is a fag burn gone bad

yeah i hope so, the thing is where it was i couldnt really see a hair, but anyone who knows anything about the anatomy of the penis knows that there are many tiny hairs around the shaft and you can see the follicle but not the hair,
I know its not an STD, like i said the fear in the back of my mind is what if it is cancer?
Heh i would go see a doctor, but like so many others i lost my health insurance a while back.

I don't know where you are, but I am sure there is a free clinic in your area that could test you for STDs. Better safe than sorry.

I have the same thing. It looks ugly as hell but i don't think it's anything serious. I don't know how to get rid of mine now though because i didn't mess with it and pop it and now the puss or whatever is hardened and deep down in the skin and i can't get it out...I don't want girls seeing this and thinking it's herpes or something!

i shaved it all off about a year ago, and ever since then i've been having what i'm pretty sure are ingrown hairs because like described, it's a pimple that i can pop like one and the puss usually has a hair in it like said

I think I have this...but it isn't really the shaft, but halfway up my penis, between the head and the shaft.
There are other hair follicles around it, so I think that's what it is.
I can feel like...something inside, moving around, if I touch it, so I dunno if that's the ingrown hair or scar tissue or what.
Any advice?

A decade or so I had a pubic hair follicle become infected and become like a boil. I squeezed out the pus and it eventully dried up, but it left scar tissue underneath the skin, which is a little bump now. This is probably what you have, but go to a doctor anyway to check it out
