Well not literally, allow me to explain...
I am very new to wiccan and was wondering what bits and bobs I'd need to get me started on rituals, setting up an altar etc and how to go about it.
Having read about spells and such I've been overwhelmed with info and got confused.
If anyone has any words of wisdom I'd be very grateful.
Thanks in advance. :)

That's a good question without a good answer.
It totally depends on what you feel you need. Personally, i use as few tools as possible--keep it simple, you know. But i rarely go for the all-out ceremony, and do most of my work through visualization and meditation. When i feel i need something, i start to look for it, and i generally know when i have found the right thing.
Read a few books, and you'll have a long list going for suggested items. Here's what i keep handy (i know you didn't ask, lol, but why not? lol):
*Bulk Herbs and essential oils (i use them for EVERYTHING; if you are diligent, you should be able to find a health food store in town, or supplier on the internet, with decent prices)
*Candles in various colors and sizes--i find that the simplest forms of magick are the most powerful!
*Incense
*a bowl or chalice to hold water
*bowl or other container (we use an abolone shell) for salt
*cast-iron cauldron (or other fire-proof container)--this is my favorite thing to work with; 5-6" diameter should be plenty to start with
That's about all i use. I'll probably buy more when a need arises!

Thanks :)
I'll probably keep it simple too. Being a peniless student and all LOL.

That's actually a campy idea... I've got a 'wiccan travellers kit' that I made for myself... It's a star shaped box that I bought at work (I work in a craft store) that I've painted black with some silver glittery stars. In it, I've a glass votive holder and white candle (white embodys all colours as well as in itself, so it's neutral enough) a baggie with 3 different kinds of incense, whatever mood I'm in at the time to fill it, some dried sage leaves, a little baggie of salt (for protection and purification), a book of matches for candle and incense, a funky glass I found at the dollar store to use as a chalice, a dollar store statue of a woman that I use as a goddess statue, and a small notebook with a pen, where I write my favourite spells in it to carry around with me. It's a great travel kit, and there's room in it where I can add more to it if I get inspired to do so... I hope that helps!
