Chinese Breakfast

Any idea what the Chinese eat for breakfast? Restaurants aren't open and I am clueless.

in the phils, they ate rice, and fish, and sometimes chicken. There was little to no difference between "breakfast foods" and other foods. My cook learnt that I liked fresh fruit, and toast... so there was always that, along with the rice and meats for the family.

I lived in China last year. It seemed like they mainly ate Congi (rice and beans, somewhat like porridge) or buns with some sort of filling for breakfast.

When I lived in San Francisco the South China Café made a dish of BBQed pork, rice, peas and loosely scrambled egg. It was tasty regardless of which meal it was for. One of the few restaurants that I totally miss :(

Have you ever heard of dim sum? It's breakfast in chinese pretty much. If you're going out for breakfast you either go to a dimsum restaurant where these people push these carts full of little plates of appetizers that you eat, mainly things like various buns with filling inside or dumplings or sticky rice in banana leaf or turnip cakes OR you go to a noodle/congee house where you eat a bowl of noodle soup or congee which is rice soup.
Yeah but the most important thing about breakfast is your TEA! that's really what dimsum is for actually, to drink tea and food just accompanies it.
