Hi, I'm quite interested in learning more and reading about animism. Just wondered if anyone could recommend any good books on the subject? I'd prefer a book but if not maybe some good websites on the subject. Thankyou!

Read Primitive Mythology by Joseph Cambell, should give you an
idea of origin.

There arent really any books on animism per se, its definatly not
going to be in the New Age Section.

YOu need to look into anthropology sections on indeginous beliefs,
piece it together from there. There isnt one animism.

I was about to ask the same question :p , I'll try and find what I can to research as I'm very much interested as well. Heron any specific anthropology books or directions you could point out? Yono, I'll check out those authors, thanks

I've always been interested in alternative thinking, spiritual avenues, however most books are like do this and this and this, which is a turn off. I'm just trying to find varying methods and ideas that I can try out and see if they work for me, if not then I'll try something else. Thanks for making this site really informative and interesting

there are lots of good indiginous people's websites on the net. the most popular search engines are no longer all that good at finding them. this may be for the best.

i know of a couple of good link farms but i'm a bit reluctant to give their url's
out to anyone who hasn't already found them on their own or been pointed
to them by tribal elders or someone with a bit of real understanding and
judgement more then i have.

i'll think about it, if i should mention them here.
