Why so cheap and easily available in UK?

Well as everyone probably knows - in the UK hash is much more available than weed, and a lot cheaper. In general here we are glad to be getting weed, and a bit annoyed if only hash is about. But judging from some posts, over there people are excited about getting hash, and willing to pay $60 a quarter... that would easily get an ounce over here.

Now the thing I don't understand is why it is like this in Britain - and why people in other places are excited about hash in the first place, in my opinion weed is a lot nicer and a lot less harsh and overal more clean.

I can't seem to figure out why Britain doesn't have more weed than hash like other places.

- Soap bar: poor quality keif or powdered weed mixed with coffee, bees wax, pestisides, tranquillizers and pretty much what ever else is sitting around when they make it.
- Real hash: is the resin crystals of the plant that have been mechanically or solvent removed and pressed together

from what I hear soap bar is most common in England, pretty cheap stuff, but a huge rip off as it's mostly filler. While I'm not sure about real hash prices over there I'd imagin it would be at least as expensive as bud depeneding on quality. Bubble hash is gonna start around twice as much as bud. And the way I understand it alot of the hash over there comes from the netherlands.

I thought it was a bit more - oh well, just under an ounce for $60 then. And what I mean certainly isn't Soap bar, it may be mixed with things, I don't know, but if it you certainly cannot tell and it smells and tastes like real hash, so I would assume it is real hash for these prices.

Almost all hash in UK is soapbar. If it's mixed with anything to dillute and/or bind, it's soapbar. That is why it is so cheap. Even moroccan that makes it to UK is usually just moroccan soapbar, made specifically for exportation.

Here's the lowdown from my own trips to the UK...

Yes, soapbar is the most common thing sold as hashish, but it has only a small percentage of the worst commercial grade hashish in it.

It's full of adulterants and contaminants as mentioned already.

It TASTES LIKE SHIT, it smokes like shit, you gotta smoke a whole lot to even begin to get a buzz, and you're just as likely to get a headache as get high. In fact it's more likely it's oxygen depravation getting you high.

You should NEVER EVER buy or consume this shit!!! It is unhealthy and by buying it you continue to encourage its importation into the UK.

There is good hashish in the UK, but be prepared to pay around 10 pounds a gram or more for it. It will be either high quality Moroccan, or decent Pakistani, or excellent Afghani or Nepalese, or even locally made bubble hash from homegrown UK shit.

Believe me, paying more for the good shit might seem expensive, but you don't need to smoke five bowls before you start to feel anything! You'll feel something after the first hit, and it will taste good and get you ripped. So it's actually a much better deal & much healthier for you.

Ive been a regular toker for ten years in the UK.


We mostly get high quality uk bud, the occasional bit of decent hash, and all sorts of low grade seeded weed.

People often generalise over the UK being full of shitbar, this is mostly confined to poor areas and council estates!

Yes I talked to one guy who schooled me on the areas of britain... seems as though in London it's not as hard to get buds, but a lot of other areas people have never even SEEN bud, only bars. That's just fucked up.

Well my boyfriend lives in the UK, bit west from london. Theres enough weed (skunk they call it) avaible, that tastes and smokes like average weed. Like the stuff I buy in the dutch coffeeshops.
The hash I always found a bit 'strange' tasting, and we often find plastic in it. Its not harsh, it smokes normal for the rest and it looks exactely like dutch hash, more 'dried out' maybe. its indeed avaible for the soupbar places but they all claim its not.
Well I smoked it, it got me stoned, its not AS good but its decent really.

A guy at my school can't get weed and he bought low grade hash, really low grade, mixed with a laod of stuff, don't know what it was mixed with but whatever it was made him go really odd coloured and pale and be rushed to hospital.

Holy shit... would never smoke hash there if I knew what I was buying had plastic and all that shit in it. I heard they also put shoe polish in it and pass it off as hash. Glad I'm not a brit, and smokin fine nugs over here in US rather than plastic over there.... sorry for being harsh but thats just bullshit man...

Yea but that's most likely quality. Same situation here, no one ever has hash unless someone makes their own.

That's why I bought a little hash maker. Haven't been able to make a whole lot yet, because I've been impatient and haven't always had a consistent dealer, but one hit of what I made kept me good for a few hours, quite stoned.

fortunately, i am one of the luckier tokers i the u.k. - you want good hash? get to north wales because this hash i'm smoking is compressed, consistent, contains crystals and smells/taste like GOOD potent hash should. and i get it for the price that most people are paying for diesel (or soap bar as you call it).
i used to smoke soap bar unawares in early days, but soon disagreed with a friend and found another dealer. now i can get afghan pollen, acapulcan gold, a regular supply of good hash (20 the half) and i've had some nice cross pollinated northern lights buds from this guy, namely white widow and jack herer's.

so if one hippy can get some killer smoke in the u.k. then im sure eveyone else can. as i found out - you just have to look in the right places. this shit don't deliver itself.

as for diesel, i'd rather go without smoke at all than buy that shit again. half ounce in one night and i didnt even get a buzz - just a nasty headache.now what's that shit all about?!
