well as many of you know tigerlily and i are a hipforum couple who have been together for just short of one year. we love eachother very much and being so far apart is a pain in the ass...it is also quite expensive. recently i just pursuaded tigerlily to set up a paypal account in order for us to sell of some stuff on ebay, and other things, but, we'e both still very poor.....essentially what i'm saying is, gimme yo' god damn money, now foo'!
we are currently acepting donations from any and all that are willing to give it...now we're not asking money for nothing, we are prepared to do what it takes to make the money we need to be together on a permanent basis. tigerlily is an excellent artist and would be willing to draw portraits of users for nominal donations, and i could make short movies of users using my oh so superior paint skills. we're also considering running a hipforums lottery/draw, where half the earnings would go towards our fund and the other half would be up for grabs by the winner...you could win money while supporting a great cause. pretty much anything either one of us can do to inspire you to support us would be much appreciated.
we have both been VERY cautious with the money we spend in order to save up as much as possible to see eachother. recently we just bought 20 dollar head phones so we can talk over the computer and save ourselves about 100 dollars a month on phone bills
please help us! i love her more than anything and the only thing standing in our way is money and time, since immigration is a very expensive and lengthy process.
any hints or suggestions pertaining to other way we can increase donations would be much obliged, and if anyone would like to contribute a pm would be a appreciated. we'll keep a running total on how much we've managed to save up and we'll both be making regular contributions to our own fund.

how about instead of giving half of the money to the "hipforums lottery winner" you agree to give half of the money to the lottery winner's charity of choice. That might give people some incentive if they know that some of it will go to a good cause (besides yours) instead of someone elses pocket.

expectant mothers and boyfriends of expectant mothers aren't allowed to donate. and penny, thats WAY to much money, we're only looking for two dollars here, three dollars there sorta thing...and we have to be able to give you back something too, like make ya a portrait, or write you a song or something.

we won't be moving in anytime soon, this is a long term sorta thing where we hope to gather a small amount of funds over a long period of time to help us actually meet the financial requirments we'll eventually face. the move won't take place for probably a good 'nother year in order for tiger to finish uni, which will greatly increase her chances of immigration...but even with that time cushion, with her paying for uni, and my low wage job, the finances just don't look that feasible

us hippies are poor so we really don't want large donations, but small donations over time have a way of adding up quite nicely.

-so penny, tell us what you want and we'll make it for you, but for less than 20 dollars :p

and dammit penny 20 is too much for a one time donation...if you feel like donating 20 why not do it over a couple of months for various things in like 2 dollar installments? :P besides if you donate 20 dollars then someone who wants to donate a dollar or so would be less likely to do so if their donation was to be compared to yours. if everyone only donates a few dollars then if a user wants to donate a dollar or somethign he/she wont feel bad about such a small sum...but really small sums add up if lots of people just donate a dollar here and there.

ummmmm, i think not. visiting eachother once every 3 months only seem to cost about a grand maybe a lil more...3 months of raising a child costs a heck of a lot more than that. in the short term the immigration is gonna be a lot more expensive but in the long run, im afraid its you guys who have the short end of the stick ;)..minus the love of a child and all...
your kid should be a good couple of months old by the time we'll be doing the move so...once you have that time indicator to base how much money you'll need AND you still wanna donate we'll consider letteing you...but not untill after the kid is born and you figure out exactly what kind of financial situation you're in then.

thank you to everybody who has helped us out. we're in the process of moving dangermoose down here so that i can finish school and then move back up to canada. we're both on an apartment lease right now for 6 months and we found a really good deal and have money saved up to pay for the entire 6 months... we're planning on getting married during thsoe six months also, though a date has not been set. frankly, this depends on the trouble getting over the border... ideally we'll have a nice wedding in june or july... but it may be sooner.

anyway, thanks again for all the help, and we'll be spending lots of money on immigration papers in both countries now... lol. (since dangermoose will be staying here for a couple years as a permanent resident) we really appreciate those who have helped out for nothing, or for something we made for them, and i hope you don't regret your helping us either.
