View Full Version : Dumbest DEA MJ Claims

hey yall,
if you go onto the DEA website, the try to tell you about how "bad" mj is for society. I would like to hear what you all think are the stupidist claims stated by the DEA and propaganda organizations.
I can name plenty but the claim that really sticks out in my mind is how marijuana activists are trying to manipulate their audience because it is a tactic used to legalize all drugs, like meth, cocaine, and heroin. There maybe a handful of people who want all drugs to be legal, but most of us mj activists are pushing for mj legalization, not heroin legalization.

this isnt really a stupid claim, but i just love the way how so many official reports on cannabis include as one of the adverse reactions:
feelings of impending doom

In circa 1971, the lapd put out a pamphlet "for concerned parents" in Q & A form
that supposedly contained facts about illegal drugs.
First of all, under the effects of marijuana were listed: paranoia, dizziness, tremors, panic, violence, nausea--things that, if true, would have meant that no one would even want to smoke it, ever.
But the biggest laugh was:
>>"What's a lethal dose of marijuana?"
"30 grams per kilogram of body weight"<<
Which means the average person would have to smoke 11 pounds of pot at a time.
They used gram/kilogram weight because in those days few people in the U.S. knew the metric system (everything else in the pamphlet had been in oz. & lbs.).
However, I knew the metric system cause I smoked pot, and knew that 28 gms. = oz.
Marijuana taught me the metric system.

Yea - weed was the only thing that moved the US into the metric system. Back when you could get a kilogram for $100. The DEA has always said dumb shit back when it was the BNDD they put out this flick called reffer madness that was so bad that it was cool.

Yeah hippypaul, I remember back in '67 when you could get a brick (kilo) of Acapulco Gold for $100.00.
That's about $45.00/lb.
And Acapulco Gold still ranks as one of my Top 5 strains I've ever smoked. A clear-headed, active high.
And damn that could give you cotton-mouth like you couldn't believe.
I once smoked a j with a friend and went to the movie's and had cotton-mouth so bad I couldn't even talk; I just pointed to the coke machine.

I rode a Greyhound bus from LA to Little Rock with 10 keys of Gold in my duffel bag. I was the man for a while there. Felt like we were up to our eyeballs in smoke. But that was long ago in a country far away.

i love the impression i get from dea and dare...that only people who whipe their asses with fifties can afford drugs
like i thought for a while it was just cause i was a fifth grader and overestimated everything, but now that i look at my old dare workbook, my god a grand for an ounce? and most kids thought of an ounce as like an ounce of water, so all our eyes got big and we just assumed we could never afford it.

Ive seen a quote of a DEA official saying that someone would have to consume nearly 15 hundred pounds of marijuana to receive a lethal response. There ya go... the DEA even admits the drug they are hounding is relativly harmless...

I think most of the people who visit this forum are too young to know what a thai stick is. I dont think they are though. This is actually the first time ive ever seen them even mentioned online.

Dont ask me how big it was, because I dont know, but from my understanding it was a stick, with weed tied around it. The weed was supposedly from thailand. Hence, thai stick.

As I recall it was bud tied to a stalk with a hemp fiber. The usual smoke was leaf, so good bud was unusual. Some were reputedly diped in hash oil.

I used to be with the dea until a crazed man who had been smoking on the reefer the whole day shot at me. he didnt hit me but this just goes to show you that marijuana can take a sane person and drive him mad

Thai stick was some of the most potent weed I've ever smoked.
Expensive as all hell for that time. $15.00--$20.00 for about 2--3 good joints' worth.
I remember once sitting in my friends car in a freakin snowstorm in the parking lot of a casino in Tahoe. We puffed a fattie and went in soooo very very high.
I don't remember too much of that night except I recall sitting down at a blackjack table with $20.00 and getting up a hour later with $200.00.
The best Thai stick was the kind "dipped" in opium. Holy moly that was some killer weed.

About the metric system... around here weed is still for the most part measured in the Custom or Imperial system of whatever its called, like 1/16, 1/8,1/4, 1/2 ounces all that... The occasional guy will say grams but I dont know how much a gram is... I only know the metric system in distance and temperature.

28 grams = one ounce
a cigarette weighs about a gram
PLyTheMan

Usually 1 gram to a dime (though dimes vary based on quality), 3.5 grams in an 1/8, 7 to a 1/4, 14 to a halfie, and 28 to an O.

They had a whole article in my High Times a couple months back about the "10 Best Strains" but then under it they had a small box about, "5 Best Flashback Strains" Acupulco Gold and Thai Sticks were listed there...the Thai Stick looked funny...almost like it were made out of rope haha
Anyway, one of my dealers had some Acupulco Gold a couple weeks ago...it was the real stuff too...simply because it looked just like the picture and I would trust this guy with one of my nuts (More of one of my friends rather than a dealer)...and he knows the grower directly

My favorite DEA lie: marijuana is physically addictive. PURE BULLSHIT--name the chemical and show me this year's research you should be citing, asshole! People can develop mental dependency on anything.
Actually, maybe my favorite DEA lie is "These are the facts!" (collectively)

The reasoning behind the U.S. ban on industrial hemp (feral marijuana which WILL NOT get you high):
Marijuana growers will plant pot in the fields of hemp, using the hemp as a disguise.
They must think we're shit stupid.
Marijuana grown in a hemp field would be so full of seeds it would be almost worthless.
Legalizing hemp would, amoung other things, save America's Forests, eliminate the logging of old-growth trees and end the ecological disaster of clear-cutting.
Because an acre of hemp provides 3 times the amt. of paper pulp than timber, and hemp can be used for many thing that trees are now used for, inc. making sheets of plywood.
Also, hemp requires less water than timber, less herbicides and pesticides.
