"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still
friends even after they know each other so well." Tommy - age 6

I know little kids can hold a lot of wisdom and come up with some profound thoughts at a young age... but seriously, this does not sound like something that came out of a 6-yr olds mouth. How could he ever understand the concept of 'still being friends even after they know each other so well'?? It's pretty safe to say that he doesn't know this from experience.. it just sounds way way too complex of an idea for a 6-year old to understand, let alone come up with on his own.
oh my goodness, thatīs so freakin sweet!!

We perceived little children as little children. It's wonderful their outlook at life, it's beautiful and positive. I wish we still think that way as we grown older, but reality hits in... Lovely post, thank you for the smile. =)

everyday." Noelle - age 7
"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty
and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford." Chris age 7
Introduce me to the 7 year olds who said these things. I will believe this when I hear it from the mouths of children. I still enjoyed it though.

People can only see their preconceived ideas of what a child can see.
I have been a nanny, done babysitting, children's fairy parties and an art teacher for children and most kids, when you ask them a question without that condescending idea that they will say something funny, have better ideas about love, god, humanity and life than most adults I know.
When you speak to children as you would anyone (read: a fellow human being) they will show you the simplest and most pure truths about many things.
It's when children are brought up in that hubris consciousness of "kids cant understand that, their minds aren't developed blah blah blah" that their ability to use their intuition and flexibility gets warped and they become the anal adults so out of touch with their surrounding and go on to say "kid's can't understand that".
Children are so perceptive that if you speak to them with the idea in your head that they are less than you, on any level- they will respond accordingly.
And people with these ideas cant see past their own minds eye anyway.
