this is about me seeing my boyfriend (whom i met on these forums) for the first time.... it needs some revising, but this is what i have so far. it's for class...


Finally



I waited all day

Phone calls, hands wringing

My heart a flutter

Anxious, I paced the house

I drove by the bus station to make sure

It was where it has always been.

I love you.



I waited all day

And my mind went crazy

Until I drove to the spot

Where I was to pick you up.

My brain stopped and my heart took over

My body trembled.

I love you.



I had never felt your warm, secure, yet unsure embrace

Had never gazed into your soul

But I knew you

And I knew I loved you for a long time

How can it be that I fell in love?

Absurdly, I thought it was impossible

To love you.



Waiting in the lobby I saw a bus

And my heart leapt

But it wasn't yours, so I sat again

And my legs shook

The next bus came, labeled "El Paso"

And I ignored it only to see you emerge from the corner of my eye

I love you.



When I had thought my heart would burst

Or my body would collapse

You held me closely

And our hearts beat rapidly together

I had never been held so tightly

Or been so close to tears of happiness

I love you.



I waited for months

And the miracle of us together

Overwhelmed me

We walked to my car and

I was nervous, embarrassed,

And you couldn't stop staring at me

I love you.



I felt your eyes on me all night

Not caring what anybody thought of us,

For the first time I was alone with you

For the first time I was truly whole

The rest of the world faded away to nothing

As our smiles melted together

I love you.
