I gaze at the moonless sky and think of light eternal
Distant points of shining embers fuel my musing
The closest of them still impossibly far
there light I now see was born when I was a child

Some no longer are, there time spent before the birth of man
What great and wise civilizations have arisen since there glow began it s journey to me
Is the flame of there cities intermingled with the glow of those distant suns
Only reaching me now, long after they have returned to dust

And what of our light? Were does it go?
When I turn off the light in the middle of the night and it fades outside my window
Do the campfires of my youth still burn across that night sky?
Will someday some far off wonderer gaze at the star that once warmed my face
And find it just that much brighter

P.S.
I have been trying to write this for years, I'm still not at all happy with it but i think i am getting closer

you think so? I thought it kinda bit, but the fact that light never stops unless it gets sucked up in a blackhole fasinates me. very time we make a light we add it the universe yaknow?

Ah, and when light enters a black hole does it come out the other side
to brighen another Universe :) We are love and light when we relax
into our essence and allow ourself to be present in harmony with
All that is.
