There are many requests on create new forums for all sorts of subjects; if every request were granted the forums would become unmanageable. Ideally moderators should be assigned to every forum as well.

Howerver, there is a solution! Every member has the opportunity to start a new forum in the Personal Forums catagory by becomming a site supporter. You can start a new forum on just about ANY topic you like, and YOU get to Moderate the new forum!

To become a supporter go to: http://hipforums.com/forums/eservices.php the donation ammount is very small compared to the services you will get from it.

Personal forums can be linked to Public forums to help attract new memebrs.

IF your personal forum becomes popular you can then request that we convert it to a public forum. Public forums posts must generally conform to the Site Guidelines, and not the more or less restricted rules that you may implement with a Personal Forum.

I would love to see a forum about home repair. I donated a few days ago so I'll try to fire up a personal forum to answer any questions about anything around the house, from hanging a picture to a complete tear down of rooms or portions of your home & how to rebuild it...sheetrock, framing, plumbing, electrical, kitchens, baths, finishing carpentry, masonry, roofs, fire protection, alarms, surveillance, waterproofing, insulation, ventilation, water filtration & wells, septic systems/sewers, fireplace heating system taps, antennae(yagi/parabolic/directional), off-grid power generation...i.e. wind mills, power production via streams & waterfalls, DC power plants and solar cells, diesel generators, automatic transfer switches, and how to build a birdhouse.

If anyone has already started a forum like this...please point me that way so i can give some fun advice...

I've got 10,000 things in my head and I have to teach or it'll all be lost...

Yes, I've requested that a couple times. It would help people loosen up and get rid of some of the jokes clutter in other forums.

My first impression of Hip Forums was that it had a technical type layout and atmosphere. A humor/relaxation cafe would be great.

I strongly am for a sport forum..I don't frankly know if I could manage to moderate it though, since I'm not on line every day and overall I don't boast great informatic skills (euphemistically said)

There's a search future. You got me curious, so I had to go look. :) Go to the main forums page (the page where all the forums are listed). :P At the top of the page, there's 4 drop-down menues. In the Forum Options menue, there is an option to search and an option to search archieves. :) Hope that makes since. :P

Minimalist, I expected you to ask for a minimalism forum. You know, where you can only post one word at a time in response.

Your idea is a good one, requested before. There are other forums that handle different aspects of mental health, but as we are in the process of rearranging the forums, this can be considered.

hey,

I'd love to see a "long lost friends, where are you" forum where you could try to reunite with old hippie amigos etc.

An alternative schools forum would be nice, as well as a Motorcycle forum.

I have two suggestions (I haven't fully read this thread to see if they've been suggested), but I think there should be a forum for posting Links to sites,...and if it got to be popular enough, there could be subtopics of different categories. It would be an interesting forum for ppl to visit if they're just "bored" and feel like surfing the net, looking at websites.

If ppl want to post up links to outside sites, we have a place for it here:
http://www.hipplanet.com/links.php

They'll get much more exposure there as those also end up on our hipsearch.net engine too.

what about if you are a fan of a group on a particular form...i mean on the lsd forum we have quite the little family -but we'd like to connect deeper as a group by discussing personal stuff that isn't totally lsd related....but innevitably brought out by lsd.

is it possible to have an lsd subforum? our AWESOME forum moderator Relayer may have some ideas.

haha I dont know how awesome I am but I wouldn't mind adding one more to the list :D
I agree, there is and has been for almost a year now, a growing family of people who truly understand each other that for the most part posts in the LSD section. But there are some uncertainties we all go through that we feel are brought on in part by the aftermath of psychedelic drugs, and the mixed emotions and understanding's we have because of them. There are many questions that go unasked and unanswered because they dont directly deal with a psychedelic trip, and I figured rather than jumble personal issues with the open ended psychedelic forum itself, perhaps we can have a forum more along the lines of "Psychedelic Lifestlye"? I know it's a lame name, but just to get the point across.
I personally know many of the posters there and have given and received advice via private messages, but I feel there are many questions we all have that could benefit other's who are afraid to ask or afraid to be in trouble for posting in a forum strictly designed for LSD discussion alone.
Anyway, I normally wouldn't bother with such a suggestion but there is indeed a large and growing family there as already mentioned and I feel that we could discuss more in depth our spirituality which doesnt ring with the Philosophy and Spirituality frequenters, personality changes and growth that doesnt exactly belong under the Psychedelic Experience subforum, as well as your general questions that anyone there would ask as is done within the Stoner's Lounge for Marijuana smokers.
Just a thought, and I feel it would be a helpful forum for psychedelic and all other drug user's (because face it, that's what we all are  ) to ask off topic questions and get answers from like minded folk.
Namaste everyone and thank's for taking the time to read our request.
:D

How about combining the two alcohol forums? There is no obvious purpose in having two. One could be replaced by a shortcut to the other.
