The bible say incest is wrong yet Adam is children committed incest.
Adam and Eve were not brother and sister but their children were who reproduced us therefore that makes it incest does it not?
Peace out.

The Torah was originally a polytheist tome, in some versions of Genesis, abel meets children of other gods, and in other adam and eves children marry each other.
In some versions, Adam had a previous mate named lilith.
Genesis is a fictional collabaration, and I wouldn't take this as a good reason to marry your cousin.

One of many inconsistencies in the Bible.
Another one is this: when cain went off and found a wife, where did she come from? Did Yaweh make a few more people but never told us about it?
None of it adds up at all. The people who wrote/compiled genesis couldn't even be consistent.

Remember when Cain had killed Abel and been found out by God? Cain is banished to the land of Nod, but he's worried the people there will kill him, so God puts a mark on his forhead as a sign that he isn't to be trusted, but also not to be killed. It's clear Adam and Eve were not the first or only people. I think Genesis is the story of where the JEWS came from, not all people. I think the writers just inflated the story, and combined it with the world creation (considering themselves the best, the self proclaimed chosen people, clearly they had to be the first).

Just because Adam and Eve were the first created doesn't mean they were the only ones created by the hands of God. He probably made many other people, but because Adam and Eve were the first, they are the most significant.
Such as: "The Birth of a Nation" was the first "full-length" movie created, and there were many other movies created that are that long, but because BoaN was the first, it is the movie most talked about in film history.

^ if that's true (that others were created besides adam and eve), then all the abrahamic faiths are useless. The idea is that original sin was passed on from adam and eve through their offspring, thus everyone has original sin. If other people were created, then we don't all have original sin, and we don't need saving. Further, no one would be able to tell who has it and who doesn't.

dont ya love rationalizations? when your faced with inconcistencies, make up your own stories
come on, whos going to suggest that some aliens sent a few extra people down to mate with adams kids?
blah blah blah
face it folks, the bible is a story, nothing more
& its not even a well written ine since for every "fact
' in it theres an opposing "fact" & your forced to pick & choose wich "facts" to believe & which to reject.

Not fiction, but not fact either. Myths aren't logical and aren't meant to be scientific. The greeks had a division, mythos and logos, myth and logic. Unfortunately, we nowadays confuse our myths with being historically, logically "true". But they aren't literal histories, they are spiritual histories. A guide for the soul, but it won't help you pass your science or history test.
Like I said, though, it's our confusion of mythos and logos that has us in this problem with religion these days.

I don't consider a long, drab, archaic book which condones slavery to be a guide for the soul.

These are pretty well known. If you read the first two books of genesis, there are two different creation stories. http://www.deliriumsrealm.com/delirium/religion/judaism_genesis.asp

Well, that was BEFORE the Law was given.
Yet, I believe that the first two generations had a special right.
EDIT: And I doubt Adam commited incest. Only his Children...^^;

But, see my first post on this thread: There were clearly other people already living. Otherwise, who was Cain so afraid of? Who inhabited the land of Nod? Who was Cain's wife?
