To pinch or not?

How many growers perfer to pinch the tops off the plant to produce more branches in the Veg state?I know this is good if you have a low height to your growroom but what if you have say 8ft?

8 feet or 80 feet, your light only penetrates so far in respect to "usefull" lumens. The tighter the nodes, the more usefull spectrum reaches more plant.

It depends but your plants will only grow as high as the lights are.........i personally top all of my plants because i am a closet grower and i only have about 3 feet to work with, but i clone the tops into another plant or just clone it into 1 big bud.......

If you have height issue's, there are other ways to get max. bud out of min. space.
Such as lst and scrog.
No cutting required, no recovery time.

You can always tie string on the tops and bend the plant over if they are too tall.
I find that if you cut or pinch the sucker leaves you get more bud. The large sucker leaves block out the light. Not that I grow anymore!!!!!!! But we always had good sticky smoke. Aaaah Cannabis Heaven.

The plant on the left has been pinched it grew to 20 odd inches or so & gave 2 & 3/4 Oz dry not bad for limited space growers try one plant at a time & compare it to the others.

LabRat:I take it that the plant on the right was not pinched.Are they the same strain?Are they both in the flowering period?

No the one on the right is 5way it was pinched at 12-14 inch the one on the left is ICE it was pinched at 3" & grew 2 main stems at 14" I chopped one & cloned it. Look at the bottom right of the pic you can see a V shape where I copped.

Very nice.My eyes get red just looking at both plants.Did you pinch either plants more than one time in the veg state?

No just the once but you can if you want but dont pinch it all at once do 2 bits then leave it 4-5 days later they become very bushy & require constant prunning.
P.s & much 180 turning (daily) for even growth.

It must be said, never to pinch when in flower. Done it, experimented, and it buggers the main colas up. Top or pinch as early as possible at the veg stage.
