Does anyone here besides me do their college work through distance learning? I did my gen ed through Kirkwood Community College which has its home campus in Cedar Rapids, IA. I'm off for the summer, but in the fall I start at the University of Maryland through their distance program. I take my exams at the local college, but do all my schoolwork over the Internet and through corrospondence. I prefer it this way, but it's not as easy as people think...you have to be disciplined. It leaves me more time for my activism though.

Hey there!
Tell me about discipline! I tried distance learning two years ago but work got inthe way because at that time, I had just moved houses, started a new job and started my college work ALL at the same time. It was very difficult. Two years down the road, I'm going to give it another attempt. Actually, this time is kind of like a ultimatum. I have to complete it no matter what, so I'm trying to keep eerything else in my life mellow and put the priorities on college work. I'm even going to move further away from the city so I'm less likely to give in to a call from friends to go out because at the moment, I'm about 10 mins away from everything. However, seeing you at it gave me so much more confidence!

I know you can do it Vanilla! Just stay focused but also remember to have balance. You can have fun and be a good student at the same time. *Hugs* :)
