South East Rainbow Family

Fall Gathering 2005

October 15-24

North Georgia

The vision of the south east rainbow family is a gathering that moves from state to state across the south eastern US each fall. It is only the vision of a very few, as far as we know. As a council of 8 we can’t speak for the whole south east.

Therefore, we humbly invite all of our sisters and brothers with similar visions for rainbow in the south east to come together in council in love, peace and harmony at this falls gathering, especially the long gathering tribes of the SE to come together, Katuah, Florida and Cumberland rainbow families.
Our offering is a freshly scouted site with a field, lake and ample parking situated in a dry county in North Georgia. Please bring your kitchens, personal gear, circles, heart songs and stories and let’s see what happens.

Directions will be posted October 1, 2005.

The conscensus was since everyone that was at spring council, that was for a less inclusive name change,(on ethical grounds) never came to this council,and we had folks from 3 states other than alabama at this council..

There is hope for a gathering of the tribes each fall in the southeast..

Please help us make this a reality,,, lets bring family together again...

im very hapy bout the oct 15 date .....cause it gives folks a bit of time to wrap up or lick their summer wounds ......blistina our 15 yr old daughter has got a rather long run of heavy duty antibiotics due to the agressive clap she picked up behind the shut up n eat it bliss pit last month , but shell be in top form by then ...seriously thats awesome though ....i wanna go .

Don't worry about the geography so much. Gather with people you feel comfortable with, and try to get some people to come reasonably close to where you live from time to time.

Yes, Dark Star, Rainbow Gatherings are open to all people no matter where they are from, but if you go, stop by the hippiestead, we'll show you some Gathering pics and give you a good idea of what to expect. Some things are easier to explain face to face & you're not that far from us.

I may be down there around that time, assuming everyone is invited. I've yet to go to a Rainbow gathering and would like to know what they're about. I'm in the workings of planning out a trip around the states and want to go to gatherings and festivals along the way.

wouldnt know none of them showed for council,, IN BAMA,, so who knows,, they were suppossed to go for a less inclusive alabama based name change at this council,, but noone showed...

but bein the ones that did were from 3 other states besides alabama we decided to keep staying the course..

I do know there were several bama folks adamant about a vision of a drug an alchohol free vegan family,, but as i said the one most adamant dropped his notes off at a sisters house 30 miles from the council and was a no show..

So we as a council of 8 did what we thought best..,, after all we couldnt give a family a new alabama name if noone from alabama is represented now could we??

Personally i think it was wrong,, an bein that everyone thats able is headed to katrina land,, useless..

hello, i live in greenville, sc, is there anyone else from this area thinking of going?

Just spent a day at "the site",,, with 4 other brothers who i consider elders and experienced somewhat beyond me..

Nice site,, it would appear however that water will have to be trucked in from a fee area campground about a mile or so away from parking..

UNLESS,, someone was willing to hike in and set up a kitchen about 3/4 of a mile down the trail towards water falls...

There is a spring that can be tapped above there,, camping space is available but limited in that area..

Actually there are several kitchen/camping sites in between,, just then water logistics(for kitchens) become a issue,, IMHO...

The front gate,,, its funny,, I LOVE IT!! ,,BIG ass fresh painted sign!!

its just the way it wound up,, we sent the postcards and e mails,, he posted that,,he's already gave out holding camp directions(noone was there yesterday),,basically with directions to the gathering site included,,so much for conscensus huh?/

strange that he would pick a no alchohol spot as a front gate..
But hey thats his problem not ours,,..


No worrys,, was wing,sugato,david(that owns the health food stores), whacked out tom from atlanta,feather an kyle (all katuah)who met us up there yesterday..

Like i said,, its a nice spot an it will work..
