Defences high,
With a hardy confidence.
A selfish generosity,
Aside from the point,
Supported by endless love.
Yet penetration.
Unexpected and undeserved.
Between the steel guards,
A seeping liquid poison,
Mercilessly floating on leant trust.
Breathing out gratitude's relief,
As hearts lay flopping,
Like dying fish.
A girl?
No.
For against this was the protection.
My love was elsewhere,
In form of time and location.
Revealing not even to me,
From fear of an instinct numbing...
Performed by the subconscience.
A heart must love.
And now I suffer.
Guilt, longing, and regret.
Amplified by my own stupidity.

So ignorant and blind,
Could have never permitted this defeat,
A shattered heart,
Dry and cracked,
Lays lifeless in my gut.
