Yes! Soil can die. You my friend are a genius, if you would have actually read your science text book in middle school you would have found out that all plants remove nutrients from soil. And, through different cycles, nutrients return to the soil. Water has been on the Earth long before you were born, does that mean you have absolutely no right to consume it? I think that is one idea that needs to be thrown out the window. Why do we encourage people to vote no matter what? For the numbers, to look like our country is full of politically encouraged people? Why should people who are not politically inclined be encouraged to vote for someone when they're not going to research and find out if the people or laws they're voting for are really what they believe in. Why don't we just encourage people who actually know what they're doing with their vote to vote. Many people who are uninterested in politics but feel pressured into voting will vote for people based on what someone else told them or who someone else told them to vote for or a campaign commercial they saw. That is ignorance to use something as important as a vote in vain, it is less ignorant to just not vote if you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. There should be a test before you're allowed to vote.

what is it you think you can really learn about before you vote anyways? Sure, you can 'research' what a given party 'stands for'...you can read their 'platform'... you can decide if the politician on TV 'stands for what you believe in', you can research until you memorize every key player and politician in the whole damn country...but ultimately, most of it is crap! Most of what politicians say during their campaigns is a fairy tale dreamed up by people whose sole job is to make that politician look favorable. Most of the actual decisions that happen in the government have dick all to do who you vote for...however... the difference can be made by what kind of majority a particular party holds... therefore... even if you don't have a clue what the difference between 'left' and 'right', 'liberal/democrat', 'conservative/republican' is... it's ALWAYS a good idea to have some opposition... a good rule of thumb for people that don't give a fuck about politics is just to vote for the minority... that way, you at least have a government that has to argue a little about decisions and you don't have one party making all the choices.
Personally, i don't PRESSURE people into voting... i simply SUGGEST that they vote... cuz if you don't... you have no right to complain about a god damn thing that goes on in your country.

I've been growing pot out in the woods for over 35 years and also worked for The U.S. Forest Service for decades, and I've seen fist-hand what some pot growers do to the land.
Cut down 500-year old manzanita tree's, overdose with pesticides/herbicides/fertilizers (which pollutes the soil AND water), leaves heaps of trash, kill local wildlife, and injure innocent people with booby-traps.
I once had to help a man restrain his 10-year old daughter from tearing out the fish hooks that became embedded in her scalp when she went into the bushes to pee during a family hike.
Whenever my friends in the Forest Service found a grow (by accident, we rarely went out looking for them), if the grow was neat, with min. damage to the environment, we'd Let It Be. If we found trash and shit, we'd rip it up.
And if we found booby-traps, we'd stake out the grow and bust the grower next time he showed up.
We busted the asshole who strung fishing line with fish hooks in it (it was at the level to take out the eyes of an adult) and he got 8 years in jail.

But as an earlier poster said, the reason people grow in the woods is because it's illegal.

At least the cutting of old growth and the traps would be gotten rid of it pot was legal. As for the chemicals, thats a problem with most crops and farming it seems. People need to respect the land, no matter what they're doing =(
