My pendulum seems to have been confused

Recently I started using a pendulum, my first. It seems though that it is confused, or out of wack.

First it's yes answer was a counterclockwise motion, and it's no was a clockwise motion, it's neutral would simply stand still or move back and forth, or to and fro.
It seems that now it still has it's counterclockwise yes, but for it's no it goes both clockwise, and also back and forth. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do so it is steady? Blessed be.

Yeah, I know. As for the pendulum, I wouldn't be too worried, as long as you know the meanings, it's fine. Use what ever feels easy and natural to you and keep practising.

I know it's been a long time since this thread was started, but I just noticed it and thought the question might still be in play.

I have a pendulum that's made of metal and I really want a gemstone or something, because the metal is so influenced by everything else. It just doesn't know what to do. Stones are much more reliable.

However, if you are not focusing correctly or are distracted, that can have adverse effects. Metal is influenced a lot by water, and since most of bodies are made of water, it conducts thought very easily to the pendulum. I would recommend metal only to people who can really control their thoughts (I certainly can't yet).

Also, anything electrical you might have on when using it, i.e. lights, radio, etc, might influence it.

If you carry it around with you a lot, you might steady it and make it more consistent. And if it's switching directions, just write out on a piece of paper an arrow signifying the direction of yes, an arrow for no, and an arrow for maybe, and then hold it over the paper to ask questions.

white_raven, good info. That could be what's whacking up your pendulum. Be also open to interpretation, though. As far as I know, there is no 'right' or 'wrong' way for a pendulum to swing.
